I hate Michigan for this reason…..the salt. I kept telling myself I'd find a cheap truck for the winter to save this, but couldn't swing it this year with building the house. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this clean for the most part and hopefully the roads stay clear. This is from driving up to Mackinaw City over the weekend. We swung over to my cousin's place in Lakes of the North where they got hit hard with lake effect snow.....54" since Thursday.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

My wife bought me a remote start for the ‘06 because I’m constantly complaining about getting into a cold truck during the winter lol. I have an appointment this coming week to get it installed.

I kind of feel like I stepped back in time because I’m excited about having remote start installed :D

I just installed a Start-X brand in my daughters 2016 Fusion this past week. Took me about 30 minutes...you unplug the connector behind the OBD2 port and put their harness in between..go through a quick program and BOOM...remote start...Works off of your factory fob too...LOCK-UNLOCK-LOCK. Found it on Amazon..about $110 or so. Not sure on the range just yet, but install was so easy. Just food for thought if you want to try it yourself.

I had it installed this morning and have used it already before going to work. We're staying in a duplex while we build our new house and I don't have a heated garage or the time really, plus the wife got a gift card for the installation too. Its currently about 19* outside so it was nice not having to go out in the cold :D

I also like that it retained the entry lights (lights flash when the doors unlock) and that the running lights are illuminated when the truck is running. I don't drive the truck a lot, but this will be more than enough for what I need.

Here is my daily cateye that I recently picked up from the original owners grandson .. 2003 Z71 200k, just added 6.0 engine covers and turn signal folding mirrors & currently collecting parts for the hydroboost swap and adding cluster with trans gauge. I love the console swap you did! Any details ?

Very nice!!! Can’t ever go wrong with a black cat eye. What details would you like for the console?

I plan on upgrading to power folding mirrors too as well as a Denali instrument cluster surround in the near future.

Is it a pretty direct swap? Im between a nnbs console and full console.
It’s a direct swap, you just need the console, a black plastic bracket that secures the console to the dash, and the glove box door and surround from the donor truck. It’s super easy, just set aside a few hours and take your time.
