It does get some engine heat, but it's out of the sun, so it might be ok. Here's an idea, Though. If the existing part can be slid out of it's home, on the connector how about cutting the existing peg/post/pin off, drilling a hole and pushing a new regular pin through from the back?

I like that idea. Not sure if it's possible with how the clip mounts to the connector, but I'll definitely give it a look.

No response from Mouser, which is kind of a bummer. I figured they probably wouldn't be able to help but it would've been nice if they'd at least told me that...

Well Mouser got back to me today with the quote from Aptiv. Minimum order quantity of 2500 pieces, $1200. I'm not surprised, kind of a bummer though.

Needless to say, that's not happening.

Another random Impala question...

This car is developing intermittent turn signal issues, which I believe to be the hazard switch/flasher module (it's all one big unit on these cars). The GM part is long discontinued and unavailable. RockAuto has several options, with the ones I recognize being from Dorman, Standard Motor Products, and Rostra. The Dorman is on closeout for around the same price as the Rostra ($20-ish) and the SMP is nearly $40. I'm tempted to go for the Rostra simply because I believe they're a current supplier for GM transmission electronics, so they probably make decent stuff. Plus it's the cheapest. I've seen some positive reviews of the Dorman part on Impala forums but, you know, Dorman...

What say you all? Which would you buy?

I would buy the Rostra with that info in mind.

Our Impala had I think 280K on it. Ate wheel bearings and exhausts. No floor pans left by the time we sold it. It would intermittently have full interior electronic failure that came about at the end of its run. Wouldn’t shut off and you could still drive normally.

Sorry I left you hanging on the yard. By the time I had a chance to go I was on a mission and totally forgot. Now that yard is closed. Went to two others but they didn’t have much in the way of Impalas. Did you check Custom Connector Kits? They sometimes have oddball stuff.

As a last resort - can you use Google to search that photo? Might come up with some options.

No problem, don't worry about it! The original christmas tree is still hanging on, and I've pretty much accepted just using one of the zip-ties with the clips if it does fail. No biggie.

I actually pulled the photo from Google IIRC, either that or grabbed a screenshot from a YT video.
