the blower doesn't work on any speed; think it's probably the dashboard switch.
My '97 had a failed blower motor--drew excessive amperage. This caused three separate power-circuit failures

1. 60-amp "Maxi Fuse" in under-hood electrical panel popped. No high-speed fan.

2. Regular blower fuse popped.

3. Thermal fuse in blower resistor unit popped. No lower speeds.

Replacing the Maxi-fuse and the regular fuse got the high-speed working again, but then the smoke was coming out the dash vents from the blower motor burning up.

Replaced blower motor, high speed worked without smoke. Removed blower resistor pack, put a jumper wire across the legs of the thermal fuse, and had all the blower speeds again. Thermal fuses aren't available separately, so I got a resistor pack from a Treasure Yard vehicle. Problems all solved.

Good to know! One of the big fuses in the underhood box is blown. Haven't looked into it yet. On our other 99 Burb, we did have to replace the blower motor and resistor. Also went through 3 or 4 switches before getting a good one. It's going in the current Burb when all the other dashboard stuff is done. After 22 years it probably does need a new blower motor and resistor. Thanks again for your help!
