9.9L - 550HP - 750lb-ft? Needs better numbers out of all those cubes.. and more tire!

Still massively impressive, though. And nicely updated with the PY0's. I chuckled a little when he popped the hood and the first thing I noticed was the R4 compressor, I guess they ran out of room for anything else.

If any of my comments sound like hate, it's strictly out of jealousy. The backstory - can you imagine finding that thing in the salvage yard, and being able to take it home??

It could have used a newer AAM axle with the rear discs, and the newer larger front discs, (need at least 17" wheels).
No doubt the numbers could be increased, but why?
Those numbers, (at less than 1Hp per cu in,) will give a long life to the engine, perfect for daily use and not having all the components stressed out.
At $18K on Craigslist that rig was a bargain.

I missed the whole story on it being found. The linked video in this post says they got it out of a salvage yard in poor shape and restored it?

Did you really ask "why" more power.. when discussing a 9.9L monster? ;)

What I got out of the vid was a junkyard suburban, taken to a refurbish shop, then over to Lingefelter for the eng work.
I think they planned for upgrade power, but not exceed what the transmission/ transfer case would withstand for longevity. Replacement Parts are easy as there are not other model upgrades. Even my mom would like this, she has lead foot sometimes. :waytogo:

By todays standards it is weak but it was designed for police work in the extreme desert climate of Saudi Arabia. Lingenfelter probably designed that engine with the reliability of an anvil.
