I know this z height/trim height question has been posted on here a lot, but I didnt see my specific question while reviewing the older threads. I know you measure the lower arm from the bushing pivot to the lowest part of the steering knuckle for 4WD trucks. When looking at the FSM that was posted here I found this table.

How do I determine which K1,2 trim height to use?

What vehicle do you have? Check with the service manual set for your vehicle, and the SPID sticker in the glovebox to determine the exact application.

In other words, is your truck a K20906 equipped with C6P?

Or just set the Z-height to 5.9 inches, which is within spec for both K2500 choices as well as K3500.

[Wild Guess] in common usage, the difference in the K2500 Z-height spec is related to 6-lug K2500 vs. 8-lug K2500. I bet the 8-lug K2500 has a shorter Z-height than 6-lug, (8-lug K2500 similar to 8-lug K3500) but until I need to deal with it myself, I'm not going to research this.[/Wild Guess]

If you looked in the OE manual you had the information. In the first section " OA- 1 etc. " it list the model codes , first four digits, basic truck . Next two digits body style.
The first section explained it all. The L65 is desiel engine.

Thanks for the replies I believe I have a K20743 with the 5.7. so id need the 6.2 inch height.

I didn't understand that code breakdown being used at first but now I think I understand how it works.
