Only way up from there is a factory found 4.10 or an afternarket 4.33 or 4.56.

The larger the gear number the better it is for towing.

Since you own it as a limited use vehicle you might be best served to research if that axle and carrier will take a 4.10 gear and have it changed. If its a 2 wheel drive platform it a fairly reasonable modification, if its 4x4 then thats a bigger hurdle as thats a front and rear gear to change. If you haven't ditched the factory muffler no is a great time to upgrade it.

A gear change, free flow exhaust, and computer tune will you have you feeling much better.

What do you have for transmission cooling? A big trans cooler and temp gauge will be your best friends as well in preserving that 4l60

Thanks - I found GT4 in the glove box code sheet, so 3.73? Considering that this truck is most needed for road trips, would it be worth looking out for a 3.43, or isn't it a big deal?

Is one more popular/common than the other, or really a 6 of 1 sort of thing.
