On either side of the opening in the grille for the hood latch, there is a hole of approx. 3/8 inch. (Between the opening and the grille attaching screw head)
Does anyone know what those 2 holes are for? Thanks
Edit: hmmm, holes don't show without clicking on attachment to see the whole frame.

Could it be that they for a plastic panel like the one shown in this video. Had a hard time finding a link for a photo and am not currently at my truck. Mine is also disassembled so this serves as a good exercise for having to reassemble mine at a later stage.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I thought there might gave been a "filler panel'' there originally, but I've never seen one. I guess I'll have to scour the junkyards, unless someone knows if one available.
Turbo4whl, the badge is machined out of aluminum. I need to fill the GMC with red paint and then clearcoat it. Originally a GMC, the burb is now GMC, Chevy, Cummins 5.9, Ford 1 tons, some Freightliner parts. People ask what I drive and I tell them..a hybrid.

Took a ride to my honey hole junkyard. Picked 3 of the filler panels up. Also got 2 of the retractable lights that mount in the engine compartment. They even had good latches on them. Seems the latch must have broken easily as most were broken.
And....a picture.
