That last picture was in the last set of pictures I took before the tear down began. I got a parts truck with a title, so the frame became the new home for the new project.
1993 K1500 chassis. Unmolested, never wrecked, no damage, bone stock.

Stripped it to nothing, mounted it on a rotisserie, put it in primer and painted.

The problem is GM's bottom u-bolt pad...they get so packed full of mud and everything else and nobody cleans them, and they corrode the bolts to pencil-thin. It's scary, really. I put old-school round-top u-bolts with an old flat plate back in it. And it's gonna stay that way when I change the rear end (again).

Do you have a picture of that setup? Just curious.

Us backwoods rednecks like to use our backhoes for tearing trucks apart. 'Cause that's how we do it 'round here.

I see, I assume there is a hole in the plate for the pin? Just like seeing how people do things differently!

Yes there is. I THINK the plates I'm running were off of an F-150. I had to do a little bit of trimming for them to clear my bump stomp, but I've never had any troubles. Can't help it, I hate GM's lower-pad setup because it causes rusty u-bolts and I don't wanna deal with that again!
