Im waiting for the day when the rest of the country follows Commieforia and every diesel on the road can only be 10 years old or less.
It’s only for commercial registered business vehicles. Private owned vehicles are exempt. It’s not a blanket ruling.
I didn’t know that. That’s stupid. Is there any exemption you can get?
Yes. You remove the commercial style bed and install a normal bed and register it as a private vehicle.

Hey everybody!
I know this has been beat to death on here but I am looking for some info.
I acquired this 1993 C3500 dually with the traveltime trailers conversion package out of Texas (rust free). The plan was to sell it and go and buy a new truck but this thing has grown on me... quite a bit.
It currently has a 6.5 Detroit which is fine by itself, but once I hook onto my 44ft race trailer with it all loaded down.. she's a dog.
I would like to do a Cummins or Duramax swap and maybe put an Allison or an NV5600 behind it... or at least something with decent overdrive - right now with the 4l80e at 70 mph she's wound up pretty tight.
Is there anybody that has done this that could provide a list of everything that will be needed? The truck gets used pretty regularly in the spring/summer/fall and is stored during the winter. My plan is to try and purchase everything so I can try and knock it out over the course of winter.
I am capable/willing to modify the firewall and/or trans tunnel if need be. I would like the air conditioning to be functional as well.

Any information the wealth of knowledge on this site could offer would be beyond appreciated!!!

The paint work will get done after the engine swap!

It depends on what rpm’s you are going to run a Cummins likes to be 15-1700 rpm’s for best mileage and it doesn’t pull much after 2200. A duramax I would imagine is higher in the rpm’s as it is a v8

Been running my LB7 in my k1500 for almost a year. Crazy reliable, amazing on fuel, not very many people expect it. Injectors are expensive but small price to pay for how great the lb7 is on fuel, I’m on a mileage tune that’s supposed to be 400hp/700tq and the thing is a straight missile. I would go duramax just cause your truck was what they designed the dmax around, they fit super nice, transfercase lines right up with the front diff. I have done Cummins swaps before and I would put them onto the same level of difficulty.

I think after this thing it would be had to have a Cummins again.

I got the same truck and was wondering how did your swap go. Im a newbie but my father in law is a mechanic and said he would help me engine swap it whenever the time comes. I was gonna go 383 but a lb7 swap seems like a fun project.
