Yea I would prefer it not be dual pattern but it seems if I want to get a 15x10 in an oem ish styled wheel that’s the price of admission. Luckily the monstrous 210 hp won’t be breaking them anytime soon lmao I just want a wide wheel for the rear that will still accept trim rings and my oem centers so I can get an oem plus look to match my oem front wheels
It wasn't HP that made them crack I believe it was side load.

Well if all else fails I got a stick welder and some rods to burn lol ordered them today so we will see how it all works out.

In other news , made this bench grinder stand out of some oilfield sucker rod and a tiller wheel :) and made some progress on my shop

Well, the wheels were not to be I guess. Got an email saying my order was cancelled due to back order. I’m kind of ok with it tbh. Found a deal for 300 bucks for a set of truck rallyes on marketplace 15x7s and 15x8s and they’re refinished I may go snag those instead

Got a pile full of parts ! Time to start wrenching! Gonna need new tires too because the upper balljoints failed to the point that it could no longer hold alignment and cooked my tires lol

Ok well not bad progress today got the driver side completely stripped down. One of the upper control arm bolts gave me a fight but otherwise went pretty smooth

Picked up the new wheels today. Fresh powder coat never used since coated , 15x7 fronts and 8 rears. 300 for the set! Guy bought them for his project and changed directions before using them

Man the second time you do something it always flies by to the first lol had the pass side completely stripped in 45 min vs the many hrs it took on the driver side lol
All but one ball joint was torn open and hard to move. Also my front two tires came in still waiting on the rear.

Hasn’t been THAT bad except of couple of snags . One is that the upper control arms only can be loosened from the NUT side because it’s a pin style bolt. If you try from the bolt side you will be there forever. I lost a lot of time there. The next biggest pain is getting the lower control arms in the frame pockets. Driver was not easy , and currently I’m stuck fighting the lower pass arm.

Looks like a ugly job and one you just want to plow through ... I will be doing it soon myself.
Best way to do it imo is to set aside a few days and space to work and take your time. It would’ve been much worse if I had put a definitive time table on completing it. I have a separate shop and another truck so I had the attitude I’m going to start it and however long it takes it takes , and I’ll take my time and do it right . It wasn’t bad doing that way there was no pressure or stress.

I agree 100% ... also have another truck to drive. Be nice if the mechanic will get to the wife car to figure out the no start .... ASD is shutting off the fuel pump.

It takes a pile of parts to repair these trucks ... I'm guessing between $1K-$1500 to rebuild the front end.
I expect to put in $5K-$6K into repairing this truck to where it should be ... there is no way I could go buy another truck for $5K, without it needing exactly what I'm doing now. ... Anyways, parts are reasonable for these trucks ... compared to a new truck.

Yeah I thought I got a smokin' deal on my truck. $400 the first week I owned it and thousands since. Still cheaper than payments and full coverage insurance on a new truck that's not near the quality.
