Just picked up this 1991 Z71 yesterday, wasting no time on fixing it up. Ordered quite a few parts on rockauto and also got a new set of Chevy take offs from a local dealer. Truck runs and drives good but has a bad cv axle so I’m going to replace both of them while I’m under it and also give it a tune up. It’s not a perfect truck by any means but really the only issues are cosmetics and I can fix those. Only rust in the truck is typical surface rust on the frame, both cab corners and some above the wheel trim on both bedsides.

I agree, those wheel look sweet. I have them on my '14, may need to get new ones for that truck so my '93 can have them!

Replaced both cv axles as we can see the left one had seen much better days. Did a full tune up on the truck and pulled out all the trailer brake wiring what a mess. Also replaced both tail light boards as the passenger side was only working when it wanted to. Also changed the trans filter and fluid.

Been driving the truck quite a bit. Had to do intake gaskets as I believe the ones in were original and I had coolant leaking. Also found a pair of pretty nice door panels and picked up a almost mint dash at the junkyard, my original one was literally falling to pieces it was completely done. Also does anyone know where the yellow and white wire from the radio headunit plugs in? I don’t recall unplugging it.
