Well I thought I should give a little update on the cam swap. At first things were going great, everything was coming apart beautifully. But then I got to the lifters and they were a pain in the a** to get out. After spending a little over four hours fighting the lifters I got all sixteen of them out. When I popped the timing cover off I found one of the world's loosest timing chains to ever exist. Then I realized that I forgot to buy a new timing chain. So after a trip to O'Reilly's I ordered a new timing set and it showed up this morning. And then I took out the old camshaft and carefully put the new cam in. After that reassembly has been pretty uneventful. I will hopefully finish most everything after work tomorrow and have her fired up by Wednesday.

So when I put my engine back together after the cam swap I forgot to put those little coolant flow restricters in the intake manifold gaskets. While I was driving around to break in the cam I noticed my engine was running like s***. So I went to adjust my rockers again, cause I was close enough to my buddies place to adjusted them there. when I pulled my valve covers off I noticed that things were really hot on the top end of my engine. But I let her cool down and drove her home. THAT WAS A BAD IDEA. By the time I got home my engine was so hot that it stalled when I turned onto my street. But for some reason my gauge didn't show that it was above operating temp? But I'm going to start pulling her apart again and hope that I didn't crack the block.

I have a pair of 882 cylinder heads, I might try throwing them on my engine. Hopefully a stock tune would run with them

I got the top end disassembled and so far I don't see any cracks in the cylinder heads. So I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and see if I can get a machine shop to look at them (for cheap, hopefully)
