Similar peeling on 88 C3500. If it’s not V22 RPO then it’s dark grey.

I believe it’s a chrome radiator grill RPO V22.
Her RPO code is the V22, BUT, the grill that is in it is definitely not all chrome. The all chrome is available at ebay. The chrome trim around the outside and across the center where the BowTie is, is also available and the rest would be black or dark grey. This one would be a match to what she has now. She is gonna think about it. Someone has changed it at one time.

Ok, now another question. I have looked but do not see an easy answer for what I want to do. I want to allow the driver's seat back to tilt back a little. The seat set up is like a 40 for the driver and 60 for the rest. Ext cab only. I do not want to ruin the seat in an attempt to do this. The interior is great, especially since I just redid the visors and the headliner.

I would simply remove the front seat bolts and add longer bolts and some washers. 1/2” rise would likely be more than enough and easy to remove or change as needed. Loosen the rear bolts a bit and then snug them up after, this will prevent any bending of the seat brackets.

I just bought a cab in that colour combo, I like it. Of course I will need to paint it all to match as it’s a cab swap etc. nice looking rig!

I am supposed to get the new grille and gold colored OE BowTie today, from ebay. I plan to install both today and will post pics of before and after.

Yesterday, I got some more parts for the engine mechanical work I plan on doing. When I get the rest of the parts, I will be doing this work:

New intake gaskets, egr gasket, TBI gasket, heater hose connector at the p/s rear of intake, thermostat and housing, intake and exhaust valve stem seals, new a/c compressor clutch assembly and install a new to truck/used glove box cover.

The valve stem seals are needed because of the puff of blue smoke on start up and the intake seeps oil at the back and front. I know what you are thinking: do the cap, rotor, plugs, wires and fuel filter while in there. Those were all done within the last 5k miles with GM parts.

Will also be doing a fresh oil change during all this.

Her new grille and new BowTie came in today and I already had the new upper fan shroud to replace the busted one that was on there. The old labels transferred over no problem.

First grille pic is the old one and the chrome was separating and the black part was pitted and grey. Then the old BowTie. I do a trick with the under hood light to keep from running the battery down. I just bend the metal bracket down and it goes out and then I bend it back up and the light comes on and I always watch to see it go out when I close the hood.
