After welding in the rockers and cab corners, I went right to the bodywork. I was so focused on it that I forgot to get pictures. Also found out that the gas tank leaked so I bought a new one. Since I had the bed off and was replacing the tank, I decided to just bite the bullet and get a new sending unit. New grill and lights came in as well as some other parts.

Both of the bumpers were bent up pretty good so I picked up a nice used factory front bumper and a 2014-18 silverado rear bumper. I decided I'd try and paint the front one. I sanded the **** out of the chrome and put some etching primer on it. Also added some flush led fog lights. I think it turned out nice! Also put the bed back on. Looking like a truck again! I decided to keep the dual seal beam headlights. They suck at night so ill be changing them in the future. I got led lights for the front turn signals. Tow mirrors came so I put them on and got them wired up! Got the rust free fenders put on as well!

Okay so since this is a budget project, that meant I was painting the truck. As much as I wanted to buy a harbor freight paint gun and go to town, it wasn't in the budget for right now.. After I did some research I found out that I would need a better air compressor. I didn't want to spend that kind of money so rattle can paint job it was! I wanted to do something different then just a plain ole paint job so I decided to do a faded flag look. The pictures are the steps I took.

After the black paint was cured I started to sand some of it away to get that faded look I was going for. Not perfect but I think it turned out awesome!
