Sorry if this question been posted before, I searched but didn´t find an answer. Would 2" lowering spindles be interchangable between 92 2wd C1500 reg cab and a light duty 6 lug 2wd C2500? I have seen some manufacturers lists their spindles to fit only the 1500 series and some lists them for both 1500/2500. I have a 92 reg cab short bed Sport Truck rpo BYP, which I want to do a 2"/4" drop on. Found a set of 2" drop spindles that previosely been installed on a C2500, they are supposedly Ride Tech brand. Thanks.
Depends wich brakes you have. 1" or 1 1/4" rotor(hd brakes). My c1500 have hd brakes as option , found out the hard way when my new dropspindels (1") couldn't take my rotors Skickat från min SM-G973F via Tapatalk
I have the hd brakes, 1 1/4" rotors. About the same thing happend to me. I bought a slightly used set that was supposed to be for the hd brakes. It turned out they wasn´t, they were for the 1" rotors. Luckily I found that out before trying to install them.
whitewheels; I didn´t notice before I replied that you too are from Sweden. I am from Insjön, Sweden myself. Maybe still a good idea to keep on with english so other members understand
'92 would come with HD brakes regardless, so yes, the so-called C2500LD spindles are the same application. Richard
I have the 1993 2500LD with 6 lug wheels and installed a Belltech 4/6 drop ( belltech 701SP) the spindles that kit comes with is the same drop spindle for the 1500/2500/3500 those years. the link to the install is below. Just a note, on our trucks the 14 bolt rear end is the tricky part to source if you are doing a flip kit, its essentially the same flip kit for the SS454 models that year. Not your typical flip kit. https://www.belltech.com/extras/docs/BBGC/2500.pdf
Nope... 1500 & 2500LD (6 lug) do indeed use the same spindle as we have already discussed here. Providing the truck has HD brakes, the Belltech spindle is part #2500 and is a 2" drop. For 2500 (8 lug) and 3500, the Belltech spindle is part #3700 and is a 3" drop. The upper ball joint studs aren't even the same size between 1500/2500LD and 2500/3500, there's no way you would swap spindles unless you're swapping upper control arms, too. You are correct on the flip kit for a 2500LD being same one for the 454SS. Been there, done that... Richard
Brother only from having been there, done that!! Learned over the years by doing, making mistakes, figuring it out and moving forward. The spindle/upper control arm/ball joint business learned when helping my buddy TC turn his '88 RCSB 1500 into a shortbed dually using all real dually parts. Richard
