We'd need someone to post a pic of a 1500 leaf pack, but I know for sure the second longest main comes out
I don't know if this will help but here's my 3/1 springs with a add-a-leaf kit. Remember the 1/2T came with 3/1 and the "heavy half" with 4/1.

Here's a link that shows spring packs and measurements, just look them up.

Not to be "that guy" but here goes.... if there was ever any kind of accident where you were hauling, towing etc. The cops and lawyers would eat you for breakfast lunch AND dinner!!!! You would have to be at or under a 1500's rating to have a hope in heck of coming out of court unscathed.
I want to meet the cop that realized thaf it was missing a spring or two

Not a regular cop I would agree with that 100%. But in the event of some horrible accident, the "trained" accident investigation coppers are no dummies. They pick apart everything! And lawyers hire accident investigation specialists, mechanics and engineers to pick apart everything they can to get $$$$

My wife’s 97 cclb dually had a total of 7 springs. I removed the top overload and the center leaf and it lowered 2” in the rear. And rides a whole lot softer in the rear. Before it rode like a tank.

Absolutely.

Everyone's talking about ride-height and load-carrying.

Rear leaves keep the axle in place.
Add a heavy load, go around a corner--the OEM springs are bundled-together to resist side-forces. Remove leaves, remove strength. Same for axle-wrap when braking hard.

What works for a 1500-sized load may not work for a 3500-sized load.

That's the first good counterpoint that's been brought up here IMO.

Over 10,000 GVWR? You're gonna be subject to side of the road DOT inspections, whether you're towing or not. These guys dont fool around.
Like they check air pressure in dual tires not fooling around.
Any federal DOT inspector will notice exposed shadow lines from multiple missing leaf springs on the leaf above.

If it's a smoother ride you want, get a 1500, please dont make a 3500 into a 1500

Note to self: don't go to NY.
