I'm doing a 4l60e to 4l80e swap on my 99 GMC Sierra c1500 SLE and also going to swap the computer for a 411 out of a 2002 GMC Savana 3500 (same 5.7 350 vortec my truck has but also has the 4L80e). Since it's already programmed for that engine/transmission combo would I still need to spend the money to have it reprogrammed or would the connector pinout swap be enough (along with modifying the wiring harness for the 4l80e and adding the extra pins/wires for the ISS)? The only issues I see might be VATS or if the van wiring is significantly different from the truck.

I'll also need a pinout sheet for this.

You will still need a tune for vats. Lots to improve on in it anyway, you'll be happy you did it. And you'll need to pm lextech on a different forum that he's more active on. Can't remember ehiwh one is best, ls1tech?

I have been looking for the pin-outs for a 97 7.4L with an NV4500. I am not sure if there is a difference between the 5.7L and the 7.4L. I would like to do the 411 swap so I can get rid of torque management. The truck has so much more potential than is displayed. Any help would be awesome.

Is lextech not on this site at all anymore, I haven't seen him post in a while.

Not Since July of last year. Read a few posts farther back up the page, you can contact him at LS1Truck.com. He's still providing pinouts.

I think there are a few differences between the two. If you can find a pinout for a 454 auto truck that should be close, just makes sure its 96 or 97.

Since we have a new 96 up Vortec subsection, I thought I would make a new post.

The 12200411 PCM can be installed into the 96 to 2000 GMT400 trucks simply by repining the PCM connector terminals. The wiring is slightly different between the 96, 97, and 98 to 2000 trucks. The 0411 PCM has a much faster processor than the Black Box PCM and has dual timing tables. There is also more support from the tuning software companies for the 0411. EFILive and HPTuners both offer "Custom Operating Systems" for the 0411 to support boost and or nitrous. The swap can be completed in about 2 1/2 hrs and is fairly easy to do. If anyone is interested in the swap just PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a copy. I will not post the files to the web.
