Noise Identifying

Hi there I have 2 noises in my 1988 k1500 5.7l tbi. The first one I noticed going about 70 mph you would hear a screeching/whirring noise for just a split second then immediately it goes away. Engine warning light comes on.. after turning truck off and back on again the light goes away although...

Runs then when it sits a idle eventually it’s loses spark

So the truck has a different motor in it now it is a 350 vortec still just came out of another truck that had no issue. It now will only runs for about 20 mins from cold to idle temp and starts backfiring really bad and eventually dies seems like low spark the only differences is has open...

Engine oil

Ok this one is pretty simple fellas, so my truck has 202k on the clock, and runs great. But i do worry about the motor so ive used 10w30 synthetic for a while. My boss used that in his 350 so he said it would be good in mine. My question is, for the summer should i use something thicker like...

1991 350 TBI Maintenance

Hello all! New to the website, and GMT trucks. I will be purchasing a 1991 k1500 SC step side, w/ 267k on the odometer. It has a "new" motor put in it in 2013 and only has ~15k miles on it. The transmission was also changed out before, I don't know when though. It wont be a daily driver, but...
