    99 L29 454 build

IATs pull timing. The whole intake tract heat soaks, especially when you're stopped. I've been wanting to experiment with some well placed louvers to aid with heat extraction but I haven't got around to it.

Tech: 88-89 GMT400 Quad Sealed Beam upgrades (Bosch T84 E-code headlights)

Luckily, that's what I have! I'm not sure I'm going to do it, but I figured I ask. I'll take function over form any day.

Tech: 88-89 GMT400 Quad Sealed Beam upgrades (Bosch T84 E-code headlights)

Anyone try these? They appear to be DOT. https://genssi.com/h4701-h4703-sealed-beam-led-replacement-headlights-2-pack/?showHidden=true

    Bowtie Brody's Namesake 96 454

I'm not familiar with the GM/HPTuner terms, but this is basically what you want. Open-loop until it gets warm, and a lot of enrichment until that point. I tuned a 2.3L Ford motor that I can start down to 20*, with no IAC. It took a LOT more fuel than I thought, compared to a warm idle.

    L96 6.0 swap into 97 obs??

I've got the L96/6L90 combo in my suburban. I'd never put money into a 4-speed, the 6L90 is awesome.

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

That cement lasted about a year for me. My flanges were very warped.

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

FYI, there's a couple of spliced grounds and 5V supplies buried in the harness.

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

I have the Chiltons and Hayne's manuals. My wiring harness is currently pulled apart, so I could trace out whatever you want.

    What headers for 7.4?

Supposedly the 8.1L exhaust bolt pattern is the same. I have a GMT-900 3/4 Suburban, which is supposedly the same chasis as the GMT-800 and the front end is basically the same as the GMT-400 (same front diff, A-arms, etc). I haven't measured anything or held parts up to each other, but it's...

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

Probably. I had to repair that area of the frame. There's no drain hole in the bottom of that swoop in the frame.

Bought a CC Dually 454 Whipple

Maybe the first guy who tried an alignment was being lazy, but he ran out of adjustment with my truck on the high end of the recommended front end height (so I might have been over a bit). I lowered it, went to another shop, and got it aligned perfectly. Lesson learned is that front end height...

    2015 Style Tow Mirrors

Does anyone know if the BoostAuto mirrors have heat and if so, how did you wire it in?

What did you use for the acid? Prep and Etch?

    88GMCtruck's NV4500 Swap

Do you know which wiring is the neutral safety on the auto? I'm doing the manual swap now. Is it the two wires low down on the column?

    What program are you using?

    Need Help Badly

You said you replaced sensors, but are you sure there isn't a broken wire in the temp sensor circuits?

    411 Manual Trans Segment

Yeah, I was starting to think that it probably doesn't matter what motor is being used. There's some 1999-early 2000 GMC Manual files. 5.3, 4.8L stuff. I'll have to download a few and see what really is a "manual segment". I don't think the ECU really cares at that point.

    411 Manual Trans Segment

I guess I'll be figuring it out! I was hoping someone already did. It will be awhile before I get to this part, but I'll report back on it. I just found a 2006 stock 8.1L/Manual file.

    411 Manual Trans Segment

Does anyone have a HPTuners manual trans segment? I'm swapping a NV4500 into my L29 truck and I believe I'll need to segment swap the 411.

1988-1995 Clutch pedal vs 1996-1998 Clutch pedal

Here's a few pics for knowledge's sake. Here's a 96+ mounting setup. I believe the upside down U shaped piece is where the top of the bracket bolts to. You can see the master cylinder mounting hole in the background. This is the 92-94 pedal and bracket. For whatever reason, the...

    Drooly Dooly

Quick update... hopefully I can get the photos working this time... I found a MT8 NV4500 with swap parts. For any New England folks, check out J. Perry Garage on the facial books. Good guy and he breaks GMT400's exclusively. I figured out the pics this time, so here's the two from...

    L29/NV4500 Clutch Recommendations

As the title says, who likes what clutch for the NV4500, behind a L29 big block??

1988-1995 Clutch pedal vs 1996-1998 Clutch pedal

I'm jumping on this thread. I have a 96-99 truck and just picked up a 1992 NV4500 and pedals. Anyone was to trade pedals? It sounds like getting the correct set is the best case. Anyone know if the master cylinder specs are the same? Bore, stroke, etc?

    GMT400 Parts (Junkyard Stuff)

I'm looking for NV4500 swap parts, like pedals, shifter surround, etc. I'm sure some of that stuff could come from a half ton. Thanks!
