    Throwout bearing for 5.3 swap

I'm currently dealing with this: http://www.gmt400.com/forum/showthread.php?32552-Throwout-bearing-won-t-go-on-clutch-fork! But the rep at Summit Racing thinks my Exedy clutch came with the wrong throwout bearing and that I should get this one instead (which is listed as fitting my truck)...

Throwout bearing won't go on clutch fork!

Actually one thing I did notice is I slid the throwout bearing onto the input shaft and it wasn't tight, it jiggled around, it should be tight on the input shaft shouldn't it? There's like 1/16" gap between the input shaft and the throwout bearing...which also seems to be how much too big it is...

Throwout bearing won't go on clutch fork!

I see what you're saying but I'm putting it on exactly how it's supposed to go on and I'm telling you there's no way this thing is going to work! I think I might have to chock this up to poor manufacturing on the fork, I may have to take a flapper wheel and slightly grind out the inside of the...

Throwout bearing won't go on clutch fork!

Which flat spot are you referring to? This video shows exactly how it goes on and this guy does it with his hands but I couldn't get it to go on with a hammer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4e8P0fFltk

Throwout bearing won't go on clutch fork!

I'm pulling my hair out over this! Both are for a 1992 5LM60 transmission. Throwout bearing came with my Exedy 04128 clutch kit, clutch fork is an AMS CF126, which should fit. It fits the transmission perfect. This is the problem: The fork is too skinny for the throwout bearing...

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

I got my clutch kit today! also got a new clutch fork and pivot ball. My buddy ordered a new grille a while back and it came broken down by the drivers turn signal. He contacted them and they sent another for free. So he, being the coolest best friend ever, gave me the nice one as a...

    Checklist for carb swap

He's getting a TPS kit for the Edelbrock so the tranny will have signal Also I've had nothing but success with Edelbrock, if it turns out ty then we'll grab a a Holley but for now an Edelbrock will do just fine The regulator is a return style so we already got that taken care of Like I said...

    Checklist for carb swap

I'm posting this for a buddy. We're converting his TBI to carb and I wanted to make sure that we have absolutely everything we'll need to swap it over so we can do it all in one shot. It's a '93 K1500 4x4 pickup. He's bought some refreshed pre-87 heads (don't recall the casting number, I...

    Weird light issue

My interior lights have never worked...check the fuse and its blown. Put a courtesy fuse in it and the interior lights work. Great. But, now when the door is closed, the third brakes turns on even with the truck and lights off...open the door and the courtesy interior lights turn on and third...

5 speed swapping my truck, question about clutches...

That's what I figured it'd be. The only difference I noticed was the two small rings or bearings, what are those? The one almost looks like a pilot bearing

5 speed swapping my truck, question about clutches...

There's no difference in a clutch from an '88-95 5 speed right? What am I missing here?? I have a '95 with a 350/4L60E at the moment. I was originally planning on using an '89 5LM60 transmission and an Exedy 04064 clutch behind my 350ci, but the bellhousing cracked so I picked up a '92 tranny...

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

Thanks! I'm planning on color matching the grille, corner lights, mirrors and bumpers eventually. I'm getting a smooth W/T bumper to do it with from LMC too. And I couldn't even give an estimate on mileage, I just throw $20 in when I need to, I don't usually drive too far. But if I had to guess...

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

Thanks guys! I got a new stereo for it last night, I love having Bluetooth for music and I can even make hands free calls with it! I'm getting an Optima red top battery from Amazon today so that'll go in tonight. And then my current not-so-winter-ready battery can go in my '61 Buick :)

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

So since my original 5 speed was busted I picked up a new one yesterday. It was rebuilt in '04 and the truck was totaled in '06 so it has low miles. It shifts excellent. Just need a clutch kit, resurface the flywheel and get a new throwout bearing and I should be ready to swap it in! Also I...

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

Yes, both holes are dimpled along with the center hole for the master cylinder. There's a threaded hole and a stud sticking out for the part that mounts under the dash too

That's what I plan on doing, otherwise I still could pull the manual pedal from the '89!

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

I took that picture at a slight angle and also the fact that I still have the wide automatic brake pedal makes it look close. In all reality it's right where it needs to be!

My Big Green '95 ECSB build!

Got my clutch pedal installed, wasn't nearly as much of a pain as everyone makes it out to be, took about an hour and a half or so. Waiting until the tranny install happens to drill the hole for the master cylinder, install the MC and cut down my brake pedal. But the '89 clutch pedal fit perfect...

Anyone know any good sub box that would fit under the rear seats??

I had this single 12" under the back seat of my truck last winter, getting another for the new truck! The fitment was great and sounded pretty good too! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KJ0YQVK And they also make one with two 12's! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KJ10VSG
