    New Dash?

Junkyard is going to be the only way to find an OEM dash. Even if you can find a "good" dash it will likely still be brittle on the top. I pulled two dashes from the junk yards before I got a decent one, and I had to paint it to match. ABS plastic(what these are all made from, even in 2018)...

    Where do tie down straps?

I use clamp on tie down anchors. They are black and have a little hook on them. They are ugly but so is my truck. The nice thing with them is they can go anywhere so they are especially useful right behind the toolbox. Cheap too. Google Image search "Lee Valley Tie Down Anchors".

    Bigtime Problems 1990 C1500 305 2WD

I would start with a compression check and then set it to top dead center and see where the static timing is at on the distributor. Rotor should point to #1 when #1 is at TDC. If your compression is at least 90 on all of them it will at least run. Basic things to rule out - igntion module...

Redhead steering box - disappointed so far

Just my own observations here from disassembling and building a few boxes over the years: 1) the quick ratio boxes I have taken apart, the gears seem to be noticeably more shined up that other boxes. The machined in grooves in the gears take up play. Shiny gears = play. Not dangerous play...

    A/C and heat related questions

The cycling switch is basically a low pressure switch. They fail often in my experience. It's the one on the Accumulator(drier). It should have continuity with the vehicle off if the charge is reasonable. I would check the high pressure switch too, I believe this one is normally closed as...

Spectra Radiators - Good, Bad, Indifferent??

Have a spectra radiator in my 94 350. Works fine, nothing special. Motor tends to run on the cool side until it gets into the mid 90s in the summer, then it's normal. It's about 8-10 years old now and hasn't given me any problems.

    Lean exhaust and other codes

Thanks for the update i'm glad you got it figured out. Bad power and/or grounds will cause this kind of stuff because the sensors don't have a good reference.

Can't seem to fully bleed brakes

Harbor Freight sells a decent venturi bleeder that hooks to an air compressor. It sucks the fluid through from your caliper. The fitting that attaches to the bleeder screw is rubber so it seals decent. With the '94 gravity bleed is the way to go, no need for anything.

    TBI vs Vortec

Ahh, the TBI/Vortec which is better saga continues...I think all the usual points have been covered now.

    TBI vs Vortec

That is good to know on the V6s, will have to be more on lookout for those, hopefully cheaper option. Now a limited slip V6 3.42 - a unicorn I guess?

    TBI vs Vortec

I really wish I could justify swapping the rear to 342s but as bad as the 308 is, it's got 280K on it and all i've ever put into it is gear oil and axle seals and it keeps on going.

    TBI vs Vortec

I hate the 3.08 gears that my 94 came with. Stupid EPA

    TBI vs Vortec

TBI is so much simpler and easier to work on and has tons of low end torque for doing truck things. First motor made it to about 280K before a head cracked. Yes, even TBI heads will crack.

XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31

It sounds like you have the wrong Jeep shaft. The one you are after is from early to mid 90s Jeep Cherokee(XJ), NOT the Grands(ZJ), they have different couplers. The shafts are available in aftermarket and from my experience they are comparable to the OEM Jeep shafts, they are about $100 new.

    Hood/Latch Woes

I have a similar problem where the replacement hood from a donor does not match up side to side. I have chalked it up to some out of sight core support tweaking and I deal with it. You can adjust it to a point up and down, side to side, but not 3/4 of an inch. Sounds like yours will need the...

    K3500 triple cab!

I think the vast majority of people have grand visions of how they want a project to be, and then they have their born with level of ambition and drive........ There's a house down the street from me that has been a work in progress for as far back as i can remember. I mean you can see inside...

    Electric fan set up?

It should support itself, and with no fan blade in there to chop it up there's not much to worry about.

    Electric fan set up?

Yeah the space savings is an amazing benefit for sure. I do miss that.

    Electric fan set up?

Upgrade your alternator when you do it or you will watch your volt gauge bounce around every time the fans kick on. I did not do this when I converted to electric and I got worse mileage due to the alternator load up. This was with dual LS1 fans even. The cooling performance was fine...

    Open loop stumble

I had it backwards, my apologies. Yes, closed loop is where O2 sensors are important. That said I would verify good ground straps at the intake, back of heads, body, etc. And disconnect the battery and reset the computer.

    Open loop stumble

Definitely replace those O2 sensors, with something not Bosch.

2-3 shift slip, 4l60e, does Corvette servo help?

That is good stuff to know about the 250, I don't know much about GM transmissions outside of the TH350, 400 and their electric versions. Never made sense to me why GM couldn't get along and have fewer transmissions. So now you have entire factions that worship the 2004r and the 400. Just...

2-3 shift slip, 4l60e, does Corvette servo help?

Sure I have olskool. I'm not disputing that radiators get gross inside. I also don't dispute the flow issue. I didn't mention it. I was simply pointing out that liquid cooling is far more effective than air cooling. I do believe that you are a professional transmission man, and probably a...

2-3 shift slip, 4l60e, does Corvette servo help?

Professional Transmission man, I was good with what you said except the part about bypass the radiator cooling. I am no expert on thermodynamics but everything I have ever read from people who knew what they were talking about says that liquid cooling(radiator cooler) is a much much much more...
