The truck sat for awhile till i had some time to work on it. i put a new battery in it and she started right up. So the first step is new tires... that always seems to get the project going. LoL More power washing and a new set of 285 Goodyears Wrangler Workhorse ATs- konajoe

I stumbled across this 98 2500 Ext cab long bed while searching for parts to use on my 98 3500 crew cab. I couldn't pass up the deal on this one so i dragged it home. She needs some TLC but not bad for a New England truck. I originally bough the truck to strip for parts for the crew cab...- konajoe

Update Finally started moving forward with the repairs on this truck. I'm going start a build thread to document the progress. I ended up going with a set of Goodyears Wrangler Workhorse ATs in 285/75/16 -
solid axle swap questions
I'd find another GMT400 ECLB frame and build that to swap under the truck. Perfect time to install the Off Road Design straight axle kit.- konajoe

Do you have any factory chrome Chevy center caps? I'm looking for two minimum but would buy a set of four if you have them. Thanks -

Aftermarket Seats... Corbeau - PRP
The 60/40 seat in my 98 K2500 is shot and need to be replaced. I'm not having much luck finding any clean OEM seats for a 24 year old truck. So I started looking into aftermarket seats from Corbeau, PRP, MasterCraft. Does anyone have any suggestions and or experience with any of these seats...- konajoe

1998 350 - 454 Swap
Thanks for the replies guys.. sounds like it should be an easy swap. Both trucks are 8 lug, 14bolt full floaters, 4.10 gears, 4x4, 4L80E, 2500 New Process push button / 3500 Borg Warner manual transfer cases, hydroboost, additional hd coolers. The exhaust looks similar even on the on the 350 truck.- konajoe

1998 350 - 454 Swap
i have two trucks, both are 1998s. One is a 2500 ext cab and the other is a 3500 crew cab, both are 4x4 automatics. Thinking of swapping the engines between them, Vortec 454 and Vortec 350 I'd imagine it would be a pretty simple swap since the trucks are very similar other than the small/big...- konajoe

Thanks guys for the replies. :waytogo: I really like the way that yevgenievich's Suburban looks with 285s on stock wheels. They should help fill out the wheelwells on this beast. -

Yeah 285/75/16 or 315/75/16 18' tandem axle trailer with my shortbed 4x4 being the heaviest vehicle -

Does anyone tow with lager than stock tires? I picked up a 98 K2500 454 4L80E 410s and was thinking of stepping up the tire size to 285s or 315s. My rational side is saying stick with 265s and stock suspension but my motorhead brain is saying SAS Dana 60 and 315s :D -

Power washed the truck... she's got some dings & dents and a little rust but overall not in too bad shape. I guess i should start a seperate build for this truck.- konajoe

That was originally the idea, strip for parts for the white CCLB. But now after power washing and giving it a good once over, plus a cruise around the neighborhood... :D the plan has changed. She's going to get her rusty spots fixed(cab corners & above the windshield) a set of new 265 or 285...- konajoe
