    The thread for twins

She looked pretty stock even in that pic... I take it you removed the wheel spacers, lights in the grille, running boards? Great looking truck, if I may say so (I'm a bit biased) :)

How Rare is My 1999 Chevy K1500 Silverado Extended Cab?

Very nice, but what's supposed to make it rare? It's one of the last GMT400s built, sure... and leather is probably fairly rare, but except for that, it seems reasonably common (popular, in other words, so don't take it wrong; 4x4 shortbed extended cab with the 350 and automatic would have been...

    The thread for twins

Well spotted! That air deflector has been hanging like that ever since I had to remove those bolts about ten years ago in order to access and change my stock water pump which had started to leak through the weep hole. I used the opportunity to upgrade to a 130 gpm water pump instead, had no...

    The thread for twins

Any other members were ever shocked to see their truck has a twin on this forum? I'll let you judge, the other one - definitely in nicer condition than mine, looks showroom - belonging to 95C1500 (his pic was public, I just reused it). They're both 1995 models too. __IMG_0119_zpsba1kpvz9...

    Door Handles ...

I could be interested in your home-made pawls and rods... if we're several competing for them, would it help my case to let you know they'll be used on a close relative to your truck, namely my 1995 K1500 Z71 6.5TD short box...? :)

    1994 Chev K1500 6.5 TD ECSB - Junkyard Rescue!

I've had my current 1995 6.5 turbodiesel Z71 shortbox halfton for eight years now, been using it for serious work, haven't been disappointed at all with the 6.5 despite its not-too-good reputation. FWIW, I totally recommend the 6.5 subforum at www.dieselplace.com -- it is THE best online forum...

    Grandpa's 1995 C1500 Reborn

Looks great!! I thought my truck was very clean (for a '95 that I use as a work truck) but yours makes me rethink that! It's like looking through a time warp at what my truck looked like back in 1995! (I got it when it was already a bit over 10 years old.) I am going to be watching this...

    Grandpa's 1995 C1500 Reborn

Yep, and BTW I'm waiting on you to post your pictures with spacers because I'm curious to see what my truck would look like with 2" spacers. Mine is a '95 too. Factory color (Light Autumnwood, if I recall correctly) exact same as yours -- I think it's a relatively rare color. But it never...

    Grandpa's 1995 C1500 Reborn

Here are a couple pictures of your truck in your state, I figure I'd share them ;) First pic in Palo Duro Canyon, second pic on Route 66.

    The Member Truck Thread

My post contained only one question mark (this symbol: "?"). My question is the sentence that was directly preceding that symbol. :p Namely, in slightly different words, "is the chrome strip that's on that truck's front bumper -- something I've never seen before -- actually a common part...

    The Member Truck Thread

Just a little question for you guys... There exists a chrome piece that will hide the holes in the front bumper, replacing the black wavy trim that matches the original doors/side trim of our trucks? That's really nice to know!... Exhibit A and B, truck with a bumper that almost certainly has...

    1991 Reg Cab Step Side

Well, I'm again going to pass nearby sometime next month with my truck, so I would probably still be interested, if you've still got that bed!

GMT400 You can't quit looking at!

This one is BY FAR the GMT400 I look at the most (not to be confused with "best-looking GMT400" :p) as it lives in my driveway and I use it pretty often.

I normally don't like de-trimmed trucks but this one really pulls it off:

    1991 Reg Cab Step Side

Hi Phil! I'm finally going to have an opportunity to pass reasonably close to Bowling Green KY with my truck and enough room to put a bed (attached with binders) on top of my truck's existing bed, so I could pick it up at your place. So... first question, I guess, is... still have it? :)
  17. L

    1991 Reg Cab Step Side

No, but I have regular opportunities to pass not that far from the area. :) I'm sad to see such a nice 400 get parted out... Are you sure you don't want to change your mind? If I recall your craigslist ad correctly, nothing vital was yet gone from the truck (last I checked). But if you...

    1991 Reg Cab Step Side

I'm very interested in the bed! Still have it? (I emailed you a couple days ago... before I realized that I've actually seen your truck already on here! Forget my request for more pics of the step shaving job!)

    1991 Reg Cab Step Side

It would be really awesome if you could manage to find their info! Or at least recall enough to enable us to be able to look for them online! I've looked everywhere, can't find anything. (For stepside S10s/Sonomas, sure, but for our 400s, nothing, zero, nada, zilch. Not even a single used kit...

That is a nice 'burb that you have there! Also, I have the feeling I know you from somewhere... ;) BTW, I'm not very active on this forum... most of my GMT400 online activity is in the 6.5 section on dieselplace.com Chevy/GMC forums. And that pales of course compared to the time I spend on GMI.

    Transfer case stupid question thread

Thanks! So... if it grinds when I shift back into 2HI while the truck is idling, in neutral, on a flat surface... which it often does... then what T-case condition/problem would that tend to indicate? Also, sometimes I have trouble disengaging the front wheel drive... say I was in 4HI, now the...

    Transfer case stupid question thread

I might as well ask... Mine sometimes makes a big "crunch" sound when I go from 4LO to 2HI... it pretty much will do it unless I'm on a perfectly flat surface, and in Neutral. For some reason, I have to be in Park to put it in 4LO (truck has the slushbox). I can't be in Park to put it back...

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

Thanks for the quick answers! I'm aware the 6.5 isn't ideal. I also own a '94 7.3 IDI turbodiesel (pre-PowerStroke) SRW F350 with 4.10s and the ZF-5, but my seat-of-the-pants feeling, having compared both my trucks over the years in different towing situations, is that it isn't so much better...

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

My turn with my dumb question... I have a 1995 K1500 with the 6.5, 4L80-E, and the 14-bolt 6-lug rear with 3.73's. It had a mounting spot installed in the bed for a gooseneck hitch plate when I bought it five years ago, and I've done plenty of towing since, both with the bumper-mounted ball...
