88 no power, complete power failure, help!

I know this is a dead thread, by it sparked my interest as I had a similar problem of no power to anything except lights and horn one day. Turn out the fusible link corroded away. Just FYI for anyone in the future

93 K1500 oil pressure drops once warm

Well after the fuel tank issue I was kind of done messing with it on the lift but I had an extra filter sitting around and only another quart of oil left in the shop for it so that's all she got.

93 K1500 oil pressure drops once warm

Ha! I just started searching this issue and have the exact same issue. Mine likes to dip low after warming up and makes the CEL flutter on/off but I have no tapping or unusual noises and the engine runs strong. This used to be an old horse truck and since I got it I have yet to change the...

Alright, thought I would finally close this out. I had pulled the o2 as well, no change. I cannot remember if I had mentioned there was rust in the fuel tank, but after exhausting all other avenues I replaced the tank and the sock as it was full of crud. Now I can run it down the road at 70+...

350 5.7 TBI Fuel Pressure Issues

I'm assuming after the parts swap it goes to redline no problem. But I'm no ketchup scientist.

Alright, swapped computers, no change. I pulled the pump once more, cleaned up the sock and reinstalled the stock style pump. Now it runs and doesn't die for the most part though it is sluggish to recover. Seems I changed too many parts at once which sent me off course. I appreciate everyone's...

So that begs this question, how can you tell if the spring is weak? I read that it doesn't usually go bad and are rarely replaced unless it has an obvious break but that doesn't mean never.

I put in a pump from a 97 that was plug and play. So maybe that's why, it should be higher pressure. Anyway, I cleared the flood and it starts and runs just fine, despite the original stalling condition. The filter is fine, I changed it yesterday to make sure it was clear... Getting a fuel...

I blocked off the return line briefly with engine off, fuel came spraying out of the throttle body, probably the regulator housing. Hydrolocked the engine until I pulled the plugs. So I guess I can't do that.

PWC: Yes, I already replaced the ECT, the other one was corroded and bad Tay: that's a possibility, was thinking about swapping the icm with the old GM one, but that could void warranty. It's hard to diag when "new" parts are just as bad if not worse. I swapped the coil with a new one, but had...

    TBI stalling, distributor pics

It was in serviceable condition, it was pretty strong so I cleaned it up and replaced the diaphragm. Question, would any of these symptoms exhibited be indicative of a stuck TCC? It'll rev all day long in park/neutral but can't seem to stay running in gear especially when it's in reverse, it...

    TBI stalling, distributor pics

Thanks, but I have already replaced the distributor from post #2 the other day after inspecting the original dizzy. I timed it and it's good to go on that aspect. As I said though, no change in it's habits. It starts right up and it will seemingly idle all day, but put it into drive and it's...

Thanks for chiming in. Yes, the SES does light up initially as it should. I just noticed it doesn't come on after stalling, which is odd. I tapped the ECM while running with no result. No codes and everything seems to be in normal specs. I checked the coil, it was out of spec on the primary...

Going to document the problem without replies. Replaced distributor, no change to stall condition. When it stalls, the SES does NOT illuminate. It passes all tests with the tech 2. Think I may have stumbled upon the problem.

hello all, posting from phone, so don't mind the errors. Been all over this site and others and want to get a second opinion on the condition of this distributor. It's in a 93 c2500 5.7, stalls out randomly at low speed. Fixed multiple problems from it sitting for 3 years including TBI kit, fuel...
