99 Tahoe 5.7 died on the way to work, crank no start, P0307, replaced crank sensor, no fix. Plz help.

The crank sensor and the distributor would set a dtc had they failed. Fuel pressure wouldn't so I'd verify that and any systems that wont set a code. Alway go with the revised Delco fuel pump.

    4wd not staying engaged

I have the 480le and a manual transfer case in a K2500. My 4Wd only works when I hold the lever in place. I assume it requires a linkage adjustment. Man! I would love some one to offer up a GM procedure for initial set up of the linkage. I think my issue is related to cab flex knocking it out of...

Randomly shuts off, then restarts after it sits for an hour or 2?

With any intermittent problem the worst consequence is to your confidence in the truck. Be prepared for the next unscheduled stop. Research the pins to verify crank signal, see now what a proper crank signal looks like. Does the system have a cam sensor? Know that circuit too. Is there a check...

    Power steering pump going bad?

That procedure works great on a rack & pinion but understand that the gear box holds a lot of fluid. I assume a complete flush will need to address the volume in there. Does the steering gearbox have a drain plug? I serviced many systems in the south, I noticed after the pine tree pollen...

LED Parking lights/Turn signals with one plug-in

If only for historical purposes, my fast flash was related to basic problems in the brake light circuit. In hindsight I won't start another LED project unless I verify each and every bulb is working at full intensity. I had to clean the frame ground, and change a rear fixture board and another...

    Tuning other than blackbear??

I used blackbear for basic tweaks within the programming of the original PCM. I shipped my PCM to them and the truck was down for 2 weeks. After, I followed their schedule as to when they do in person tuning. They may hit an area near you once a year. This is when you get personal attention for...

If that doesn't work, the grounding point could be suspect?

LED Parking lights/Turn signals with one plug-in

I have the same LED signal lights with the same fast flash issue. I helped a buddy that had this issue on a sprinter Van. In one of their forums they recommended THIS. It's a different spec load resistor. It's crazy how massive the load resistor is for the Chevy LED set in contrast to the fix...

8 lug 14 bolt semi float

Hummer rims! I got them cheap. A little fender trim was required. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

8 lug 14 bolt semi float

My G80 was seeping from the pinion, it had 65k org miles. I replaced the fluid with Walmart brand, correct weight and api specification. (can't remember now) whatever GM recommends I've noticed quieter opperation, no effect on locker and the seep on the pinion quit.

    Weird stalling issue

Sounds like you have good plugs and wires, with it running so smooth indicates that most primary systems are in spec. IE: timing, fuel mixture... Your problem statement should be, "low power at idle" I don't necessarily think the IAC is bad, it might be bound up in carbon. The air passages could...

    Weird stalling issue

If that is the case, I would highly suspect an air blockage in the IAC circuit. Just enough air to idle but not enough to support a load of any kind.

    Weird stalling issue

I thought the idle stop solenoid was meant to maintain "fast idle" while cold during warm up. I know the name doesn't reflect that function. Thiink of it as an electric way to change where the throttle stops.

    Weird stalling issue

Does RPM dip and recover when AC is turned on? This is a small indication if your IAC is not reacting fast enough. Does yours have an idle stop solenoid? I would put 12v to it to verify that it is working too.

    Weird stalling issue

Hey, I just remembered, remove the IAC and clean the plunger, orifice and passages.

    Weird stalling issue

Not that I believe the issue is fuel mixture related, in these situations you still want to know that specific paramaters are within spec. Based on the information provided it sounds like the problem occurs whether in closed or open loop. Since this is obd1 is it easier to back pin the O2...

    Weird stalling issue

What is the Idle RPM? I believe 650 is the desired setting. If the truck is running smooth but the idle is too low it won't have enough torque to turn a static torque converter. Do 1988 Era motors use a mechanical idle adjustment and a solenoid for fast idle?

35s on stock 8 lug steels

I put Hummer 8 lugs on this with 315 75R17's and no lift. They measure 34.5 in height. A little front fender trimming was required. The tires will touch the frame slightly. A lift will easily resolve the rub.

    Best alternator upgrade ?

I assume it has sealed bearings? If so you might remove it and drop it on your work bench. I'd say a 12 inch fall on the back housing. Internal grease will shift in the cavity and relube the bearing. I've saved numerous bearings with this method at the first occurance of whine/noise. Sorry for...

What is in the front of the K1500 diff?

I have a K2500 and have no idea if the front dif is the same as a K1500. I was is in a bone yard and saw a H2 Hummer front diff with a factory elec lock feature. It was out of the truck but it looked just like my diff. Anyone know if this is swappable?

Anyone else force shifts by slightly lifting gas pedal?

Yes, it makes sense to unload torque while shifting. I assume it is less wear on clutch packs? Good idea to keep fresh fluid introduced into trans. Ive done a complete drain at 60k and plan on doing it again at 90k. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
