    Cold acceleration stumble/hesitation

Got a similar issue on my 96. It's got new cap and rotor, wires, plugs, pcv, fuel filter and pump (good pressure), new IAC, new TPS. These are just parts I replaced over the past year. It only does it when cold, but after that it purrs. I'm not getting any codes either.

    Stalling/Hesitation When cold

Hey man, did you ever figure out what caused your issue? I've been having something similar happen to my 96. It hesitates when I give it any good amount of throttle when cold. After it warms up, it purrs.

    Top end build worth it?

I would change the lifters if they've got high mileage on them since you're opening her up. I believe the springs are really dependent on the lift of the cam. The more aggressive cams need stronger/stiffer springs so that your valves don't float at higher rpms. Also heard of stock springs...

    Best cold air intake?

The closed box design is what really sold me man. The stock setup is actually a good one. Just the tubing and filter could be improved. Enter the volant. Do it!

    Running a heavier oil

My engine seems to be happy with rotella t6 15w40. Been running it a while with no issues.

    Welp I screwed something up.

I didn't have two choices from where I purchased and I didn't know that was the case. I bought it from Yukon and that was the ONLY one they had for my rear end. I called and spoke to their tech support before installing as well asking about the length and two hole setup and they gave me their...

    Welp I screwed something up.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. It turned out to be the pin. It was way too long. I'm almost wondering if the hole for the retaining bolt was located incorrectly as well, because to me, sticking out of the carrier a 1/4" or more is excessive. I looked at it with an inspection mirror and at...

    Best cold air intake?

Well, I have the volant 15957 on order. Hopefully it fits right. Not sure why, but then picture on Amazon shows a different year vehicle. Are theses somewhat universal? You guys totally talked me into too lol. I kid you not, I bought and returned it twice before reading some of the posts here...

    Welp I screwed something up.

Hey guys, Tore into my rear yesterday to replace the axle seals, c clips, and cross pin. Took the cover off, rotated assembly to get to the bolt, removed bolt and pin, rotated again to get access to c clips, removed axles, replaced seals, reinserted axles, installed clips, had to rotate...

    Best cold air intake?

On the Napa website it says, Options include a powerful Primo air filter or the extremely effective, self-sustaining Power Core filter I wonder if I can just swap out the better filter if it comes to it. What don't you like about the oiled filters?

    Best cold air intake?

Hey all, What do you think the best cold air intake is for the 96 5.7L vortec? Was looking at the k&n, but the filter being exposed makes me wonder if it's not a good thing for mudding/offroading. I'm having trouble finding replacements for the stock tubing so I'm wondering if I should just...

    Fuel gage/interesting setup/need advice.

After driving it around a bit, I still get a little erroneous movement on the needle. I had then pwm set to 240hz at som point and it was dead still, but lowered it to 140 because I wasn't sure what the circuit could handle. You should be able to do it. The whole thing will be trying to figure...

    LTFT under load.

Hey all, Was wondering what y'all thought about my LTFT situation. Truck runs splendidly as far as I can tell, but here goes. At idle, everything is fine. All trims short and long are fluctuating in small amounts around zero. At medium acceleration, bank 1 LTFT goes up to about almost 18 and...

    Front diff need modifier?

I appreciate it man. Could you humor me and explain to me why it doesn't? I keep getting differing responses to this question, but if I understood the reason, it would help me a lot. I'm guessing it has to do with the way it locks, but I'm not sure.

    Front diff need modifier?

Gotcha, thanks guys, I appreciate it! How about the rear? I've got the 14 bolt, 9.5" SF G80. Was told this one takes the additive. If yes, how much per quart on this one?

    Front diff need modifier?

Hey guys, gonna change the fluid in my front diff. 96 k1500. Does the front need the Ac Delco additive? Also, how much additive per quart? Thanks y'all!!!!

    Fuel gage/interesting setup/need advice.

Thanks for the reply! You're exactly right lol. I ended up doing just that. I had to invert the fuel gage values and take the primary volume table from a 98 silverado and that made it work perfectly.

    Fuel gage/interesting setup/need advice.

Hey all, So some similar threads have been posted about this, but mine is a little more specific and I want to see if anyone out there has messed with this. I have a 1996. 1998 fuel pump/sending unit/tank. 2001 express van 0411 PCM. Stock setup with sending unit wired to gage didn't work...

Hooking up 97 fuel gauge to 12200411 PCM

That sounds like the sending unit is still routed directly to the gage vs the pcm.

    The Stupid Axle Questions Thread

Hey guys, So what is the best fluid to run in a 14 bolt, 9.5" G80? I see some people running multi viscosity while others run single. Thoughts?

    Play In Rear Axle Shaft

Copy, will do. Yeah, I believe I read another post by you Schurkey where you said the OEM wheel bearings in the rear are very robust. Isn't that right? I'm used to front bearings going bad, but have never had to replace rear end bearings, not even on my muscle cars. I will look for the scoring...
