Not in Oklahoma anymore but I've lived all over the state. Still have family in Shawnee, Edmond, Sapulpa, Guymon, Poteau, and OKC. I'll have to see if there's a Missouri roll call now.
Dang, I need that for my Vibe kayak. Unfortunately, their website is constantly out of stock of just about everything. Took me almost two months to get a new console lid.
As the owner of a 1971 Dodge D100 I applaud you for what you've done with this truck. I have a soft spot for swepty's and love to see them around. I need to get my truck to the new house and get back to working on it. Someday soon hopefully.
Yeah, no boot that I found really stood up longer than 6-8 months. Rubber boots would get so ate up with caustic soda that they'd actually start to shrink on your foot. Didn't seem to matter the brand either.
To be fair, Lucchese boots are like high end 1911's. They don't do anything better than say a Rock Island or a basic Colt but they sure do look nice at the family BBQ.
When I was in the oilfield Redwing was my go-to boot. They're good. I don't think they're all that expensive considering they're more "work" boots and if you're working in them all day every day you'll typically pay whatever the cost for a pair that fit you right and serve your needs...
Never had a pair of those Hey Dudes but I hear good things. I have a pair of Twisted X Driving Mocs with the basket weave pattern and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. Definitely not made in the USA but overall they've held up really well and they have an antimicrobial insole that...
Saw a guy on one of the FB posts that redid his red interior and added matching red wool carpeting. Looks really, really nice. My truck is far from ready for new interior pieces but when I get there I may go with the wool.
When I was a kid in Texas, Nocona Boots was still making boots there in Nocona Texas not far from where I grew up. Those were great boots, too. Haven't had a pair of those in a long time but I think they shut that place down sometime around 2000 and consolidated with Justin.
I love those bass boots. I want a pair with blue tops. AB makes a cheaper line called Horse Power that I wear as $#!+ kickers and they are honestly pretty dang good boots for the money. Not quite the fit that true AB's have but for less than $200 they're a great boot.
Much prefer Anderson Bean boots. Lucchese's are very nice and some of the highest quality boots around. That being said, the price tag on them keeps most people from buying and the ones that do treat them as collector's items. And that's great. I buy my boots to be worn and abused and the AB's...
Love your tag, by the way. My first ride was a barn door 1997 GMC Suburban K1500. It was a metallic green color with 20's and all aftermarket lights with a stinger style hood scoop and TV's in the headrests with a DVD player. I thought I was big pimpin' in that yacht lol
Those are some nice trucks! I see you also have champagne taste! Here's a picture of my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT. I believe the color is called Silver Birch Metallic.
The names are what really had me turned around because before I posted I went to my local Chevy/Buick/GMC dealer parts counter and he was actually able to give me a build sheet. That sheet shows code 27U as Medium Sapphire Blue Metallic and code 30L as Medium Blue Metallic. I started with those...
Awesome, thanks for the info! I'll get in touch with some local shops and see what they come up with. I was getting really turned around there for a minute digging through whatever info I could find.
I've got a 1990 GMC Sierra SLE K1500 and I'm trying to find the paint codes for this truck. I do have the RPO code sticker in the glove compartment. The truck is a two-tone blue with the two-tone pin striping between the colors.
Here's my confusion:
The paint codes on the RPO sticker are...
That's unfortunate. You can try National Parts Depot. After that I'd say call some local body shops and see if they can source one for you or point you in the right direction.
I have a Fumoto valve like @tayto linked above on my Duramax. Makes oil changes a breeze. You can attach a hose right on the nipple and run it to your drain pan then just flip the lever. Don't lose the little black retainer clip. They're over $10 each I think.
If you go off-road a lot I...
There is another product line by Mevotech called "TTX". I believe this is their top of the line stuff that seems to be much more well made. I've heard nothing but good things about the TTX stuff so far. I wouldn't even set an empty Moog box near one of my vehicles. Their quality has gone down...
