    1993 C1500 Silverado - Modernized Daily Driver

Progress has been slowed a bit by life and cold wet weather in the Midwest. But, I am steadily working on tracing wires in the new center console and getting it ready for installation. - Took apart as much as I dared to make these mods easier as well as the install. - I changed out the stock...

    Tire Recommendations Wanted

Yes! I like them very much! I haven’t had the opportunity to drive them a lot yet as I’m still in rebuild mode. But they feel good so far. I went back and fourth because ultimately I would have liked larger diameter wheels & tires. But, the wheels look great and I think will look even...

It wasn’t hard at all to mount the cases. I used blue tape to mark the 1” up for the brackets, marked the holes with the self tapping screws, predrilled to a smaller diameter, treated the screws to help with corrosion and attached them. I think I’m going to like them a lot!

Continued progress: I’m 90% done and only have 50% to go! - Refurbished door panels installed. - High Country seats installed and power hooked up. Still have to hook up the power to the ventilated heating/cooling. - New sneakers installed and new smooth wheel center caps ordered. You can...

    Tire Recommendations Wanted

This thread is awesome! I’m just finishing my rebuild and have the same rims. Planning on polishing them up and going with these tires. Where did you get the new center caps? Thanks!

I think I remember that someone asked to see pictures of the “before“ and “after” on the 2” rear shackle drop. I’ll try to get some better pictures…but for now…here you go! I really like the difference stance. Now the wheel & tire decision. I’m leaning towards the Cooper Cobras that are...

    1993 C1500 Silverado - Modernized Daily Driver

There has been a lot of progress since my last post. Pushing extremely hard to get into a driveable condition so I can unload the garage and get it back to its intended use…not a repair shop. Finishing up the interior transformation: New paint, installed the stereo, new speakers, updated...

I’ll try to remember to give a report after mine has been in service for a while. The install procedure was a bit tricky and would have been easier with one other person…but in all…not bad. Understanding the instructions was actually harder than doing the job. The inside maintenance hopefully...

Crossing my fingers for you. I had my front end looked at before I made the changes and they said it checked out fine. However, something could have been missed as it is an older vehicle...and “fine” could have meant ”fine for an older vehicle.”

That doesn’t look good at all. I’m hopefully getting my bed back on this week and can start working the issue…I’ll let you know.

Posting another udpate…things are moving along! The paint shop is done with the bumpers, bed & misc parts. I’m working very hard on getting the interior back in shape enough to get the rig over to them so they can make it a whole truck again. Finishing up or adding the following...

Sorry to take so long to respond. It’s not figured out yet because the the truck had been in the paint shop and now tasking up all 3 bays of the garage getting things finished up. I approached Redhead directly about it a while back and they sent me some things to try…unfortunately the truck...

Sorry for the delay…I’ve been busting my butt to get things back together…the paint shop is finally done with the bed! The defroster is a Clear View system from The PaperKnive Company out of Colorado. I bought the option to add control of the side view mirrors as well. Working through wiring...

Latest Updates: Headliner, upper center console, rood sound deadening and molding starting to go in. I’m working in reverse order to the recommended method for removal while I’m incorporating other components and wiring. Also installed the rear defrost grid and have run all the new wires down...

They are decorative pleats…they match the ones n the redone door panels. I had them done at a local upholsterer shop. They need a bit of work still.

Today, starting the reverse install of the interior and also the extra goodies! That will include quite a bit of wiring. With the help of my next door neighbor we got the headliner recovered and started the mods to install an overhead console, OAT gauge and the new KIA mirror with auto dimming...

Yesterday’s achievement! I know it doesn’t look like much of a change…but it was one of the more expensive ones. I had a local shop that specializes in differentials “Gears Unlimited” upgrade me to limited slip, 3.73 gears (from 3.08s) and replace the 30 year old bearings. It’s one of those...

More done today! - Installed the new Anzio headlights. Ended up tapping into the hot lead on the windshield wiper motor so the halos would function whenever the ignition is on…the instructions from Anzo leave a lot to be desired…but a little research and it ended up being pretty simple. I’ll...

Progress continues! Big discoveries for today: 1. POR-15 doesn’t come out your hair, off your face or hands without taking the hair and skin it’s attached to with it! 2. If you’re installing a new Curt hitch AND drop shackles…do the drop shackles first…”minimal bolt clearance!” All that...

Progress continues. While the body shop is working on the bed I’m finishing everything I can on the aft frame. Finished up applying POR-15 where I can…nasty stuff but well worth the effort. I also installed the new Curt Class 4 hitch from E-trailer…shipping was fast and install was super...
