Pressing brake drops Idle speed a lot

I must've missed how big the drop was originally. Glad you found the leak and fixed it.

Pressing brake drops Idle speed a lot

Be aware, that hydroboost taxes the power steering to add stopping power. So, when you stop the pedal hard at idle, it puts a higher load on the engine. As long as it is only 50 rpm, I wouldn't be worried. You should get a similar drop if you hold the steering wheel against the stops. I...

Knocking noise when clutch pedal is disengaged under load

Then I'd bet it's your throw out bearing in the clutch. I've known many people who thought they had an engine dying with a knock only to find out it was a clutch.

Knocking noise when clutch pedal is disengaged under load

I still drive my dad's 02 Silverado with 300k on the original engine and trans everywhere it's needed. I even pull the boat and snowmobiles with it. As long as I don't overload it I have no worries using it. I know we maintain it properly and repair it when necessary. I'm sure it won't last...

Knocking noise when clutch pedal is disengaged under load

Could also be the throw out bearing in the clutch. I've had a few of those fail and they can act as you describe when they start to go. I doubt your engine has developed an intermittent knock dependent on load and clutch inputs.

Opinions on Glowshift, MotorMeter, etc gauges

I had some glowshift gauges over the years. I had one that randomly switched colors, other than that, I had no issues with them.

Trying to figure out what tire will fit without lifting

No adjustments to the torsion bars, 285/75R16's. Didn't rub unless I was turned full lock and hit a significant bump.

    97 K1500 project

Finally got the exhaust fixed. Nice and pretty quiet now. Took it on a 50 mile trip, and got a code for the catalyst. Was fine when there was no muffler behind it, but bad now. So, guess it's time to go shopping for that.

    97 K1500 project

Well, after replacing B1S1 and B1S3 the truck is running nicely again. B1S3 looked like it had been hit with something at some point and the tip was bent and deformed. B1S2 was that way when I changed it a few weeks ago as well. New ignition cylinder installed, now that works like it...

    97 K1500 project

Having been up close and personal with it a few times.... One 02 just aft of the manifolds on each side, than one pre-cat and one post-cat. Truck only has one cat. Per the wiring diagrams, the ones nearest the cats are both regarded as bank 1. We'll get her figured out eventually. I've...

    Suburban 2500 tire size question

Of course there was this one time I fit 36's with no lift on my old K20 Suburban. (The stock rims with 36" tires I mentioned earlier) The beast was ugly, and anytime I heard tire rubbing, the grinder came out until the rubbing stopped.

    Suburban 2500 tire size question

I have put 36" and 37" Hummer tires on the stock rims on my K-5's a few times without issue as well. Those were pretty wide with the stupid 16.5" rims and somehow never lost a bead. Even aired down. If it seals, send it. It's the ones that the rims stick past the sidewalls that scare me.

    97 K1500 project

Per the scan tool and the manuals I can find for the 4.3L V6, I have B1S1, B1S2, B1S3, B2S1. I thought there were two a side until I started doing some digging when I thought the scan tool was fibbing.

    Suburban 2500 tire size question

I may have done a few things over the years that could've been part of commercials. Also a few things that I'm glad were not filmed in any way.

    Suburban 2500 tire size question

Those are stock rims on 285/75R16's above and below. No issues, never popped a bead. Ran over 30K miles with those tires before I sold it.

    97 K1500 project

I replaced Bank 1 sensor 2 already and it seems to be working fine. Bank 1 sensor 3 is what appears to have failed per the graph on my scan tool. Flat lines of voltage are bad if I recall correctly. The shipping prices and times from Rockauto lately have had me looking elsewhere. $40 to...

    97 K1500 project

Any admins know how I can change the topic of this post to include Darth Vader in the title? I absolutely detest that it costs $65 for one 02 sensor in town, meanwhile I ordered a full set of them for $60 from amazon. Guess we'll see if it runs any better on Saturday afternoon.

    97 K1500 project

It's not a bad truck. Previous owner lied a bit, the nearly new brakes had no pads left and both rotors could not be turned. Changed the cap and rotor and it ran great for a few weeks, despite still not having the exhaust flange repaired. Daughter cleaned the interior to a point even I was...

    Suburban 2500 tire size question

285/75R16's fit my old 99 Diesel Burb perfectly. Only rubbed if you were at full lock and hit a bump. No messing with the torsion bars. Had a full sized spare in the back, but no cover. It was a W/T model so I didn't care. Somedays I miss this old beast. The crank broke 3 months after I...

    97 K1500 project

Oh the fun has started. Replaced the thermostat as that's just something I typically do when I guy a used vehicle if the temperature doesn't got to at least 180 on the way home. Put a 195 in it as it gets cold here and I'll take all the heat I can get. Noticed the temps still showed 150 on my...

My 98 K2500 starts and then dies, new ac delco fuel pump, fuel pressure builds up to 64 lbs, and the slowly drops off over time. Fuses all good, check

If your security light is on, then no. Security light means you have a security problem, period.

My 98 K2500 starts and then dies, new ac delco fuel pump, fuel pressure builds up to 64 lbs, and the slowly drops off over time. Fuses all good, check

Don't get obsessed with 10 minutes. I've had a few over the years that required more before the light went out. I just put a trickle charger under the hood and would check them every once in awhile until it's out. I think the worst one took 45 minutes once. It was an 07 Hummer H3 that...
