    JBA Stainless headers Rusting

i bought 1832sjs JBA headers. I asked them what grade stainless they were, they told me 409, so I got the silver ceramic part number 1832sjs, hopefully they dont turn out like yours I could not find any 316 stainless short headers online which is what I would have preferred

    14 bolt sway bar mounting

i went to summit this weekend, decided just to get some summit brand 3.5" exhaust hangers. they are clearly marked 3.5" yet measured 4" ID. returned and got the 3" hoping for the same poor quality. 3" were measured at 3.25":suicide: its unfortunate that none of the aftermarket sway bar...

    1998 2 door tahoe

fuel pump connector, i wonder if the damage to that pin is what causes the fuel gauge to read so funky sometimes. I wanted to reuse the fuel assembly but i rushed into dropping the tank without knowing how to disconnect the stupid quick connect fuel lines and broke the plastic tubes. why do...

    Axle yoke and seal

I pulled the yoke off my 1998 10 bolt last night and was a little confused. I re-did the front diff already and it didnt look like this, not to say they should be the same, but in the part diagram this doesnt look like it should be there. I thought the metal cup thing is the deflector, but not...

    Stock ride height

I just put my entire front end suspension back together. I put the torsion bolts as close to 34mm as i could according to this service manual instruction. When everything was on the ground and tightened up, the front is sitting about 1.5 inches higher than the rear, i measured from the bottom...

88-98 GMT Kryptonite Death Grip Tie Rod Ends & Control Arm Kit

It looks funky compared to a stardard gmt400 which is a straight bar, these have more like ball joint style ends, these actually ended up being the hardest thing to install on the suspension. partially my fault, i tightened down the sway bar bushing first which was also very hard and didnt want...

    Keep Manifolds or get shorties?

i spent the money to get a good quality set of shorties, i hate the rust bucket look of factory manifolds. I consider it a cosmetic upgrade only. i dont know if they are specific for vortec or not, but im sure they make one that fits a tbi...

88-98 GMT Kryptonite Death Grip Tie Rod Ends & Control Arm Kit

i just installed them, the tie rods are extremely easy to adjust, which is a nice plus. The control arms are nice, but they dont have any built in mounting other than the ball joint bolt for securing the abs wire, the grease zerks that come with the arms for the bushings are 90 degrees, i would...

    Rebuilt case

I know the best way would be to open it up, but not just there yet. This is a np246 on a 98 tahoe. Other pictures ive seen they either have hex bolts with a cover of some kind or a hex bolt with some inverted shroud thing. Does this having 12 point bolts likely indicate either a rebuild or at...

5 lug to 6 lug Conversation

I have this axle 2500 9.5 14 bolt, its been media blasted and powder coated. New axle bearings and seals installed. Only thing not included is the axle shafts, yoke and cover. It was to be a rear disk converted so no brake parts. Pinion and carrier pulled for regearing, a lot to do but I’d sell...
