    Rear Speakers

If you're going to do it right, I'd get to pulling trim. The only tricky piece is the plastic headliner piece on the roof in front of the rear window. You can do it if you take your time. And yes, taking the rear seat out first is a must. I might have the printout from Crutchfield on the...

    Electric sunroif

It's bound to leak . . . said everyone that's ever had a sunroof. :Big Laugh: :Big Laugh: Actually they are designed for leaks with drip rails and drain tubes. Just don't forget to clean the drain tubes every so often with some bleach and water.

    Replacement Rear View Mirror

I found pretty good used rear view OEM mirror on eBay. It may take a little searching to find a decent one.

    1994 K1500 ECSB "The G Wagon"

The one on the left is open and trash for sure. The far right open one still has the new front valence inside. It’s the middle two that just showed up today that might look out of place to her. :33:

    Dad's '98 Resto

Great thread and build progress! I can't say I can complain about Victory Red. You definitely stand out among the crowd and get looks when driving by. I had two people ask about my truck yesterday. Get ready to talk about yours often.

    1994 K1500 ECSB "The G Wagon"

Spring Break for teachers and students this week! Wooooooo Hoooooo !! The PO must have had mud flaps that were removed prior to my purchase. All four rear side wheel wells had rusty screw holes in them. The forward side of this one had lots of rock chips too. Sooooo, this was the last one I had...

    1990 K2500 Radio/Equalizer Upgrade

Great choice. It was easy to install and I’m no electronics expert myself. With new speakers, she’ll certainly be pleased.

Front differential cleaned up and resprayed with Aluminum-Blast. The transfer case and differential may be the only two major parts I restore like this. I think black for the rest of the chassis and parts works just fine. :anitoof::anitoof: Oh wait, I just remembered I’m going to paint the...

Thanks for the compliments. It’s certainly fun making something good even better. I’ve said before, I’m more impressed with the members that can tear down and rebuild anything mechanical. I can do the simple things, but not an entire engine or trans. We all have different talents and that’s what...

    1994 K1500 ECSB "The G Wagon"

I’ve been watching @SNCTMPL ’s build thread with his son and saw the mention of Seymour Alumi-Blast, so I thought I’d give it a try. Today’s project was wire wheeling and painting the transfer case. It’s definitely harder taping off and painting while on the truck. :p

    Dumb door hinge idea

That’s right. They’re called that in South Georgia too. I’d rather not see um at all! I’m sure the aquatic larvae play a very important food role in our ecosystem, but we could all do without the adults. The bane of any serious outdoorsman’s existence down here.

    Dumb door hinge idea

Amen! If any of you fine folks don't know what a sand gnat is, be thankful. Imagine a swarming insect the size of a tiny speck of pepper that will chew into your skin. We're not talking mosquito piercing, we're talking razor-like mouthpart biting. And my poor son is allergic to their bite...

    Tape Deck Delete

If y'all can find the center dash bezel with pocket, I’ll bet SEM makes an interior spray that will match pretty close to OEM. So, the trim you buy is not relevant if you can re-color it. eBay might be your best start.

    Dumb door hinge idea

Seems like an incredible amount of work for very little payoff in the end. Economists would call that opportunity cost. You could change the door pins and bushing out and be on to other projects or ventures. You'd still be trying to complete one door in that same timeframe. That's my serious...

    Skid plates for 2wd

I've only had two Z71s and both were '94 with aluminum. But, that makes my sample size pretty small too.

    Skid plates for 2wd

I know the Z71 package on the K1500 said "metal skid plates" or "aluminum skid plates" (I can't remember) in the literature back then. Maybe other 4X4 trucks had the front plastic skid plate????? I didn't even know plastic was even a thing for the front skid plate.

It also helps not to drive it out of town. I bet I haven't taken my truck out of town in that entire 21 months either. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE driving my truck but I just try hard to conserve her mileage as much as possible.
