The Stupid Engine Questions Thread
Way behind the boat on this one... but my dad tried synthetic in his Tahoe and it started to burn the oil. Down about a Qt. at 2700-3000 mi. He went back to syn blend, which is what he used before, and it never did stop the problem. :shrug:- JAW's

Parking Brake Sticking??
Ended up finally getting a crack at the buddy's truck and took the drums off. It was so full of brake dust and crud it was not allowing the brakes to function properly. Mate that with the Ice and severe cold we were receiving and brakes don't like to release. Got it all cleaned out and the...- JAW's

Radio antenna end cut off, what to do?
I ended up replacing the entire antenna and cable with a universal.. I Ended up doing a little work to the stock fender piece that covers the bottom portion of the antenna. In the end it looked pretty good.- JAW's

Really? I thought that locked the rear wheels up. I just didnt know due to it being just one and when messing with it the wheel will eventually spin. Maybe there is a rock or something inside the drum. My first step is going to be tear it apart and see what we have. Just wish I could get it...- JAW's

Correct. The Pass side kick in and spins though. I ended up having to drag him back to his place a little bit. Luckily it was snow packed most the way- JAW's

What would cause the cable to be activated though, He isnt pessing the Parking Brake at all. And I dont thing that a slightly loose cable would lock up the wheel as hard as it is locking up. The wheel gets almost zero movement and locks up solid.- JAW's

Parking Brake Sticking??
So story is My buddies truck is a 97 c1500 I believe. Reguardless, His driver side rear wheel is locking up and will not spin. The motor trys to spin it and it just cant break it free of whatever is happening inside the drum. It locks up when the parking brake is not being pushed down...- JAW's
