Small steering update The truck has been at a performance shop for a few weeks now to figure out the steering. They put a camera underneath it and went for a drive but didn't see any excess movement. They checked all the components, bearings, etc. from steering wheel to tire and put it all back...

Picked it up from the body shop installing the windshield today. They've worked on and detailed my truck before so they know what it looked like. When I got there one of the owners said, "I have to ask, what did you put on your truck?" He really liked the results, which from the work they do is...

    Windshield replacement woes

Not at all. It was originally a brighter red and at some point was repainted (cheaply) to the metallic red you see. Over the last month I've been putting on Poppy's patina wipe on clear and sanding then buffing it smooth.

    Windshield replacement woes

Getting mine replaced today and I was concerned about the install horror stories I've seen, like the OP had. My installer sent me this before actually installing it to confirm. It probably helps that he has and beautiful OBS step side himself.

Aftermarket double din radio is the stock 1988-93 digital stereo location?

Have you done anymore with this? I've been considering RPi solutions or just going with a full custom dash but I prefer the idea using the space that's already there, possibly with a vertical mounted screen.

It took it a while, but I did manage to find it. This wasn't extended to light trucks until 1994

While getting it inspected they asked me when I shaved the third tail light. To my knowledge this has never had a third tail light, neither did the 89 C1500 I had in highschool. Inspector let it pass but told me next time it would need a third brake light installed  I'm in Texas so...

Update on the wipe on clear coat and stance After many, many hours of prep, applying, sanding, and buffing here's where we're at. Finally have it sitting about where I want it The lighting is a bit off so it's hard to see the 2 shades of red and the primer but you can see a bit in if it in...

Aza Auto Wheel has some new OBS parts and I have them making something special. I have new doors on the way but don't like the cylinder style buttons so

    stuff that catches my eye

Azza Auto Wheel has some Carbon fiber trim pieces for both OBS styles now Just like their steering wheels, they aren't cheap, definitely aimed at the higher end restomod crowd. They sure do look pretty though.

The adjustable tie rod ends made no difference to the steering or wobble at highway speeds, so time for a 4th(!) opinion from yet another shop to see if they can find the issue.

    Line X Paint

Poor wording on my part, it works with normal automotive tints so you can color match to any automotive color and its still vibrant instead of dull Looks like Rhino Liner has something similar now This is speedliner

    Line X Paint

Why settle for tinted when you can go full color with speed liner?

    WTB 90-94 Door trim panels

Looking for power version in red or tan, need both doors. I'm also keeping an eye on my local market but keep being beaten to the punch whenever a nice set pops up

I got the flip kit done but brought it home early to take advantage of having last week off since they were waiting on parts for the rest of the work. Here's a preview of what I've been working on, all new clear coat

Wanting to lower a 2wd c1500 and looking for suggestions

Imo get the react drop spindle and a 4/6 with a flip kit. If, like me, you don't want a 4/6 drop then use longer shocks in front and, if you're keeping the leafs, lift shackles in the rear. I tried to just do a standard 2/4 drop but added leaf helpers and just couldn't get it low enough...

    Seen this at a dealership

I thought about this style too but both my wife and I prefer the other one, though I do like the door pull on these. I have a few things I'd like to have made custom in the future for my truck I'm pretty excited for.

I'm actually wanting to do use these panels and have someone fab in the square switches. Think it'd be a nice look.

I had Streetdreamz take another look at the steering while they had it for the TPMS. The owner brought in his own lowered OBS just so they could compare. First, they found the outer tie rods that were recently replaced have play at the joint so I'm getting those warrantied out. They also said...

    The Stupid Interior Questions Thread

I've got an 89 5 speed, anyone know if these are supposed to have something that stops the clutch pedal from bouncing when it isn't being used? If a hit a good bump or if I just left go of the pedal after shifting to neutral the pedal moves past it's return point and bounces a bit. There's not...

    1993 C1500 Silverado - Modernized Daily Driver

The last shop I had mine out actually did see another issue, they called me today. I thought since they didn't say anything about it when I picked it up they had no luck. Apparently the outer tie rods have play in them where they mount to the knuckle. These were preemptively replaced at the...

TPMS is finally working. Ended up getting 2 new sensors but that weren't sending the right ones so it took even more back and forth. Since it's been so long hopefully the 2 shops that broke them will still reimburse me. For the steering, I'm still chasing this down. I'm going to reach out to a...
