Rare find these days 1997 GMC

Just picked up this 1997 GMC K1500 with 130000 miles in mint condition. Truely a one owner! Thanks to the Oregon weather and the fact that this truck was kept in the garage most of the time. Just couldn't pass it up.

Cylinder 3 misfire 1996 Chevy K1500 4.3 engine

I had the intake gaskets replaced by local mechanic and now he is telling me the #3 cylinder is misfiring? Is this something he(mechanic) possible did as a result of replacing the gaskets? Common problem or not...
