    Welcome to the forum from the U.P. That's a clean truck, couldn't tell that it has 200k+ miles. And I can testify, GMT400s don't last around MN :rofl: . I lived in ****** MN for a bit, and my 99 C3500 basically died there. Rust is an enemy of mine.

    If you want "good" fuel economy from a GMT400, I'd put a 4.3 in it. I don't think it's a "drop and go" solution, but it would be less work to put a 4.3 in it since they were sold with them.     I'd go with it just to use it as it's been used. Or, take the plow off it and drive it until the wheels fall off (due to rust). Or it goes out Yooper style, the plastics rust off.

    I find the 2003+ 10 way power seats (that aren’t heated?), 2000-2002 steering wheel, Escalade cluster, and GMC headlights to be the highlight of this truck. Mishmash of parts, and I bet it cost 25,000+ over sticker.

    Equinox seats in a GMT400, that's something I haven't heard of. The GMT800 seat brackets might encourage me to buy a GMT400 Esky and do that swap, with GMT800 Escalade seats.

    I'm no help with GMT400 barn doors, but GMT800 barn doors are not a direct, or even a cut and weld swap. I think to do it with a GMT800 it has a different rear shape. My idea was to plasma cut out a barn door tahoe rear, and weld it on. Never happened, but I think It'd be better to do a body swap.

    The advantage of these is doing something not many people have done. Plus you get an extra gauge and something that I haven’t figured out that anyone has done. Haven’t bought a cluster yet, or even gone farther than the library of Congress for a wiring diagram.
