    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Next up is getting the brake issue fixed. I believe it's actually the rear drivers side that's grabbing. I'm hoping it's just an adjustment issue. Then fixing the AC(has a hole in one of the lines at the compressor). Wiring up the mirrors so everything works. Mounting the rooftop tent.

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Finally got around to doing my center caps. I think they turned out great! At first they were significantly darker than the wheels. The wheels were real dirty though. The last picture is after a hard rain. Still not a perfect match, but they look way better than not having center caps.

    GCWR -Suburban

This reflects what I have found in my searches as well. I have crossed the scale at the dump at 20k lbs(so 3k over GCWR) though. Oops! Loaded a dump trailer with dirt at night. It rained all night, and was extremely heavy. After that load I didn't load nearly as much for the remaining runs I...

    Suburban leather seat cover set

I've been looking at leatherseats.com. Seems to be legit, have some good videos, and also have ventilation kits available. Priced out for all 3 rows on my suburban with ventilation in the driver/passenger seat was around $3k. Completely customizable as far as colors and leather/vinyl quantity...

    Newer AT4 Wheels

I've never been a huge fan of aftermarket wheels, but have always LOVED putting newer wheels on older vehicles. These are super sharp!

    I did not.

    Odd Brake Anomaly

But it's just the left front, if they were just super grabby it would make sense, but it's only the one and its skid marks, that corner of the truck diving, and throwing me forward.

    Odd Brake Anomaly

I haven't personally touched the hydro boost, other than when I replaced the power steering lines due to leaking. I had the front right caliper siezed up last summer, that's when I replaced both calipers, rotors, pads, and hoses. My thought process was that it is likely something in the...

    Odd Brake Anomaly

I have recently(but only occasionally) encountered a very odd issue with my brakes. Something I've never encountered before with any vehicle. When I first start the truck and go to pull out of my driveway, as I slightly apply pressure to the brakes, my front drivers side locks up. It could...

    Building an Overland Suburban

I agree with the other input that a 2500 burb will do the trick. I have been building mine and I think it will be plenty strong enough for what you're looking for. I have seen a few with tailgates around. I actually missed out on buying a 2nd at auction because I had to work to late. That...

    Milwaukee m18/m12 tools

I had an old hand-me-down Sears/Craftsman 9.6v drill when I first moved in on my own. Luckily I was able to find some new replacement batteries at Sears for about $10 each(this was circa 2010). Used that for a few years, and then needed some more tools. I did my research and decided M18 was...

    Cunningham Machine

Just adding my input, the lower steering shaft is worth every penny! I wish I had known about the tie rod sleeve when I redid my whole front suspension.

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Did my first actual drive with the new steering shaft, and what a game changer. My drive to from work/gym is about 14 miles. 10 of which is a 4 lane road 65mph, and ALWAYS has a cross wind. There are also a railroad track crossing on this road, as well as another closer to work, and an active...

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

I installed the steering shaft today, but haven't had a chance to take it for a test drive yet. Overall it was a fairly easy install. Took about 30 mins without looking anything up first. I'll update after I drive it tomorrow. Also found another 99 K2500 Suburban, 4l80e, 7.4 vortec for sale...

Boost Auto Dual Function Mirror Harness

I didn't know they sold this. I bought some Ebay mirrors that I need to wire up, and was just going to live without running lights. If this is still available when I'm actually ready I will definitely hit you up.

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

I drive about 30 miles/day for work, plus whatever exploring I do on the weekend. My actual daily is a 2002 Impala. It's just down for some work for a few weeks. I almost sold the Impala once I got the truck running. I decided to do the math, and the fuel savings from driving the car over...

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Well got fuel yesterday. I used the Torque app and my bluetooth OBDII reader to show GPS mileage vs. odometer. Difference was 7.2%. So I used that figure to calculate my actual miles for the trip meter, and got a 9.8mpg over about 240 miles. Not as bad as I expected, but still not amazing...

Absolutely! Just the lower portion of the mirror is better than the stock mirrors.

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

This week I got my Cunningham Machine steering shaft, as well as my Ebay tow mirrors. I haven't had a chance to install the steering shaft yet, but I am excited to do it this weekend. The tow mirrors are a HUGE upgrade! I still need to do the wiring for them. The listing made it sounds like...

    Keyless Entry

So I got the remotes in. Got them programmed. Lock/Unlock work as advertised. "Rear x2" does unlock just the barn doors. "Panic" doesn't do anything though.

    Keyless Entry

I ended up ordering a 2 pack from ebay(with good reviews) has the "rear x2" and "panic" buttons. I should probably replace my lock actuators as well, as only 1/2 of the work usually when I press the button. Drivers door being one that doesn't work.

    99 K2500 Burb Adventure/Camping/Hunting Rig

Yeah that's on the agenda as well. Instead of ordering those, I just ordered the Cunningham Machine lower steering shaft to finish off my front end rebuild. Hopefully that fixes the wandering. The suspension parts did great, but I knew the rag joint was bad just didn't take care of it at the...
