    4 wheel drive swap questions

Yes I have done it, well currently still doing it. It's easiest if you get a truck that is the same year as your truck and hopefully the same engine. That way all the wiring will be a direct swap and all you have to do is transfer over everything. I did a 1992 body and wiring from a 305 2wd...

    What is your GMT400 history?

My first "True Love" a 1991 Chevy Sport RCSB, AKA lil Black. It's what got me hooked on 400s. When I got it, it had only 139,000 kms, but it needed some things. Did the drivers side box side and cab corner, drivers window needed replacing, tires, brakes, thermostat, plugs, wires, and cap. It was...

For those that are interested in seeing how mine turned out, with the bumper in place you will only be able to see the big tips poking out.

    Exhaust tips.

Once I get the chance I will post it up, hopefully I can get it up on the hoist and take some shots of what they did underneath. Thanks 96Z71ECSB, I like it that way because it hides the transition similar to how yours is. You only really see it when your basically right under the truck, so...

If you had to start looking for a new truck tommorow, what would you look for?

This is my cousin's truck, I would be looking for a stock rig and do the opposite as him and keep it stock height. I would also do dual exhaust, upgrade the fuel system, build up the drivetrain to take the increase in power. It would be set up for the increase in fuel mileage mostly while still...

Have you ever wondered what happened to your old truck?

Sold it to a guy I was working with at the time. Then I moved and would see the truck pretty regularly when I was around, but he sold it and I have never seen it since. I do know that if I saw it again I would know it was mine. I have actually hunted for it for a long time, and I will keep...

    Exhaust tips.

I have always thought of 5 inch or bigger as a diesel exhaust. I am a little concerned that the 4 inch is going to be to large too, but I am going to give it a try and see what I think. I really like the black powder coat SCOTTYINWV. How have those been holding up? If I ever black my truck out...

    Exhaust tips.

I also really like the hidden exhaust, but more of an over the dif dump then what is in the video. Your exhaust is nice the way it is IMO, and that is the style tip that I was actually hoping to get, but the place that I am having do it doesn't carry that type. Now that you mention the ricer...

    Exhaust tips.

Getting my exhaust put on my truck next week, and a looking at some tips. It will be a custom dual system so I will need two. I think I am going to go with the chrome 4 inch, but I am curious about the anodized ones. They are twice as expensive and being the muffler shop only carries green and...

Exhaust is going on next week. trying to make a decision about tips. I like the chrome 4 inch but the anodized blue is something different. I am putting duals and the cost of 2 in chrome is the same as one in the anodized. What do you guys think?

Thought I would post an updated picture here too. Truck runs and drives right now, no more pushing it in and out:headbang:. The sheet metal work is also done, except the tailgate. Brakes, rear dif, 4X4 actuator, exhaust, glass, body work, and paint are all that is left really to get it on the...

Thinking about keeping the stock height, not really any "trails" up here to use a lift on and other than the look it isn't going to be beneficial to me to have the truck higher. Stock might be best for now until I have a newer truck for a DD. Then this truck can get lifted. After the work that...

Any opinions about lifting this truck? I have been looking at RCX lifts. Probably the 4 inch lift is what I will buy once I get closer to that point.

Engine out. New motor in. Sheet metal back on. I picked up a set of hooker headers from jegs, now just waiting for some time to get it running again.
