    He says he wants an 88-89 Suburban if they had made made one. So to stay authentic, he would need the rally gauges. Then he also needs to decide if he wants the 88 or 89 look specifically, as the early 88 gauges are different and the 88 bezel, radio and HVAC controls are all black.

    Are you wanting a 88-94 pickup/92-94 Blazer/Suburban dash or an old square body dash like in your picture?

    You always replace the receiver/drier anytime you open the system. I recommend the orafice tube as well. If you are competent enough to do these repairs, then you can handle charging it yourself. Buy a decent vacuum pump and set of manifold gauges. They will pay for themselves quickly.

    Or like in my case, it was a bad starter. New battery, clean cables and grounds, nothing made a difference. Rebuilt starter made a night and day difference.

    The mounts are the same. I just replaced the shocks on my 88 with Bilstein 4600’s. They are specified for Z71. Seems to ride pretty good with them. My 2014 Sierra Z71 came from the factory with Rancho’s. They were garbage. I replaced with 4600’s after the first month or so. Huge improvement. But...

    I think you’re right. My dad bought a new 92 K1500 and it had the 4l60. I still remember he was in a hurry because he didn’t want a 93 with the electronic controlled transmission.

    My 4x4 decals are basically level with the bottom of the tail light opening. But it appears it was not an exact science. Here’s what the manual has.

    The GM service manual should have decal placement instructions. I only have the 88 version, before the Z71 decals were available. Or I would share with you.

    Yes, I had the same issue with the LMC seat covers. Color was awful and it added too much foam. Luckily I found a nearly perfect complete 88-89 blue bench at a junkyard in Alberta, Canada.

    The arrow shows where the ledge in the cover starts. Notice how the nose cone rides on top. Maybe that’s normal, but can someone confirm?

    Previous owner, shop, etc? Maybe there was a GM service bulletin where they added them? All I’m saying is it’s not in the parts catalog for 88-89.

    From the information I can find, it never had a brace to begin with. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with adding one. What could it possibly hurt? Just saying I don’t think GM used one.

    Can you post something showing it is supposed to have that bracket? It seems odd GM would have left it out of their own parts catalog.
