    1994 Chevy 1500 5.7 TBI Running Issues

These parts may need replacing: Should help the idle, especially the O2 sensor when warmed up in closed-loop. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=89400&cc=1031386&pt=5132&jsn=1101 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1323910&cc=1031386&pt=6072&jsn=1053

    Correct running volts?

So, I was having intermittent starting issues. Threw parts at it: battery, starter, battery cables, still no joy. Just a click at the starter several times then it would crank. Just put a new alternator on and the volts now don't go below 14 and no more cranking issues, knock on wood. Alternator...

    Battery Cables & Starter Wiring

I did loom it laying on the fender. Coiled it up, ziptied it & tucked it out of the way. The original, being routed behind the engine had part of its insulation melted from the exhaust. So the lug on the terminal block must go to the ignition, eh. Been having intermittent starting issues, so far...

    Battery Cables & Starter Wiring

I replaced the battery cables on my ‘94 C1500. One wire is loomed along side the wire that goes to the starter then back up behind engine to the terminal block on the firewall. Was like this on the OEM harness too. So, I re-routed it across the right fender, loomed it & attatched it to the...

    Carrier Bearing

I've replaced them, used a hydraulic press I got from Harbor Freight. Mine ('94 ext.cab) didn't have a grease zerk, just had a zerk where the 2 shafts come together.

    Do not use clay bar

Just a caution to others with original paint: I used clay bar on my '94, it did clean up well but after a year the roof & hood got sunburned. I guess what little clear coat was remaining got wiped off.

    Coolant questions

I put the Prestone pre-mix scam liquid in my truck one winter and the coolant froze at the thermostat housing, I left work one night and it overheated because the thermostat was frozen closed. Concentrate from now on.

    350 tbi oil pressure

My '94 gauge reads low too when the engine is at operating temps. Initial crankup it reads high then lowers as engine heats up, been this way since new. Ya might take a look at the sender & see if it has marks on it from being bumped?

Thumping sound coming from around the blower

I think it's the recirculation actuator, mine was popping so I unplugged it, will replace later as it's hard to get to. There is a thread on here showing how to replace.
