    Not sure where this should be so here goes.. Im thinking about putting a small block 400 in place if my tbi 350. I saw where one of you guys had done it some time back. Would this swap work out ok with the tbi or should i switch to carb? 700r4 gonna hold up to reasonable driving?

    remove the offset plates on the frame. (notice how deep the fan shroud is) Put v8 mounts on frame. all accessories should be plug n play. You'll need new v8 shroud and radiator. That's about it to get the motor bolted in.

    look at oru 60036c is part number i used. i then home made a drag link from 2 sleeves and tres from oobs with cold rolled welded in the correct length for my lift. cost about 400.00

    i used the ford tie rod. the difference in taper is less than .100 of an inch. i just used castle nuts with washers made on them. it works just fine.

    i used stock tie rod (side to side) took a pair of es2027l/ es2027r stock oobs drag link ends with 2 es362s sleeves. welded the appropriate length of 7/8 cold roll steel in the middle. had about $ 60 in it. im running 5-6 inch lift.

    i am an overassuming idiot. i forgot to mention the spacers/ preload adjusters. the good bj's come with them. the tool can be bought from 15 to 40 dollars depending on where you choose. i been messing with these old 44's since they werent "old 44's" lol i reckon dementia is next. lol

    iirc yes. way better than the generic partsmaster, chinese bs. moog in my opinion has gone south also. i always used moog on my ifs stuff. it did no better than autozone crap.

    the raybestos ball joints are actually premium spicer units. imho the best factory style currently available.( started at my first parts job in jan '77 as a pup at 18 ) still doin it to this day @54 . a lot of the "quality" supplires are just that. qualtiy, low i mean. youre doin awesome so...

    awesome trading, thats the way to get it done. get some 10 bolt./d44 outers and drill for 14mm studs . dorman 610-332 or equivilant. gotta love a budget build!!

    thats what i was saying. coil spring jeeps and fords are un driveable without a track /panhard bar . sas chevies are kind of middle of the road in comparison to the factory solid axle designs.
