My 91 k1500 w/350 was doing the same thing. I suspected the aftermarket radio or bad power/ground wires but turned out to be the heated (3 wire) 02 sensor that I had wired to a constant 12v source instead of switched 12v. Good luck!
Will these tall valve covers work on a 91 350 tbi? Not sure if short vs tall make a difference?

Looks like a beast...I like it.
Would bet truck was used harder than it was maintained. PO got a good deal on it, used it until the motor let go. Wasn't ready or able to buy a new rig so took the path or least resistance getting back on the road. Now it is nickle and dimeing him to death and he...
There is a fella that works at our local Napa that has one on his truck. According to his co-worker he wants to get rid of it!
Can try to get more info if you like...its about 30 min north of Baltimore Md.
Thanks for the additions...I am a little worried about the torsion bars being seized so will proceed with caution there.
Eventually wanted to swap the stock 342 gears with 410s but will keep a hairy eye ball for a 14 bolt sf rear. I found some localish Craigslist ones but they looked pretty...
Thank you so much!!!!! Love this forum!
Your right the rag joint is toast, didn't know the 1 ton c series trucks had the universal style shaft so will add that to the list!
Been watching suburban ranch YouTube channel who has been rebuilding an early year obs but has just been replacing all the...
We have a rusty 91 k1500 5.7 TBI that needs a lot of work. Brakes are next on the list.
Lines and hoses are shot, abs cv/prop valve and MC need replaced.
Would you just repair/replace the stock JB3 system Or go for it and upgrade to a hydro boost set up ?
Truck is just a tinker toy right now...
My original thoughts were parts truck for my 91 but would hate to tear up a complete truck just to replace old parts with more old parts.
As much as I dig the hot rod potential I also have no need for a 2wd PU truck.
If any one is interested in it I can help put them in contact with the owners...
Just assumed red trucks had red interior most the time?
Wish we weren't in such a hurry, would have gotten more info, at least year & engine specs. It definitely was a base model work truck. The bench seat had the head rests so that might help narrow down the year?
Crazy how trendy obs pickups...
Found this obs c1500 WT. Don't know the specs other than it is an auto and has been parked for several months.
The back story is the owner was an electrician who passed away and the surviving spouse isn't really sure what to do with it.
If I had the space I would prob try to buy it...just looks...
Some shots of the winter work so far. Cleaning up the engine bay, re-installing AC, new water pump, coolant hoses, fan/clutch, vacuum lines, upgrading master cylinder, new brakes, lines, hubs, cv axles/boots and much more. :)
Same - I'm working on my engine bay over the winter and the stock covers on my 91 TBI 350 aren't cleaning up well.
The ones I like say Chevy or sniper instead of GMC or don't have enough holes like you mentioned.
Being a rather expensive cosmetic upgrade has me really on the fence.
Perhaps I'm...
