    My truck is a 97 Z71 k1500 5.7 l31, 4l60e 4x4, 411pcm, 360,000miles. First 2 clusters i tried came from 97 models with the same engine. One cluster was from a 95 v8.     Im starting to think i got some bad instrument panels from the salvage yard. Maybe i will try to find some replacement air core motors, or save up and go with dakota digital. Is there any way to test the air core motors, confirm they are bad?

    My speedometer is off by the same amount. Havent been able to figure it out. I know its not a gear/tire issue because the correct speed is being reported by the pcm during a scan.

    K1500 starter issues

    Yes i think its a 2 problem issue. I installed a new solenoid and the starter is still not working right. Occasionally it will just spin but not engage the flywheel. I put a heat shield on the starter and plan on wrapping my headers next chance I get. I think i may need to buy a whole new starter

    I looked under the truck and there is a good amount of space between the header and starter. I dont think heat is the problem. Thanks though
