    Recalibrate 4L60E for bigger tires.

Too large of tires causes the torque convertor to delay propper lock up causing it to burn out the clutches. the output signal from the speed sensor needs to be modified to make it work same as if stock. kind of like if yo were to remove a catalytic convertor from the exhaust. check engine light...

    Recalibrate 4L60E for bigger tires.

I do have an aftermarket trans cooler but the gear ratio idk. I've had her 2 years now and have not looked into this yet. I do recall the seller mentioning he had changed the rear end and it was bigger than stock (but this may not be true). It is 6 lug wheels. The speedo is way out about 30km=...

    Recalibrate 4L60E for bigger tires.

Just wondering if anyone has a good link to the dip switch mod that rectifies the transmission speed sensor output? I really dont want to pay $200 US for the Jet Accu-speed 50108 but dont want my trans to slip itself into oblivion and boil to death again. Currently running 325/65R18's and have...

    LED headlights

The bigest problem i find is the stock lenses cant pencil down the usefull light it just bounces off the back reflector and goes everywhere blinding everyone. On my other vehicle I purchased a Amazon set of projector lenses for cheap and it now throws light properly like new cars do. Im now...

Head gasket repair or crate motor

Just get a lower mile motor from the wrecker and spap over all your stuff. Other than that just new oil and coolant, exh gaskets and spark plugs. Oh and renting a engine picker for the weekend.

Popping turn signal fuses 94 silverado

Maybe check your trailer wiring if you have it? If not hook up 100amps to it and let the smoke out of it. its a crude way of doing things but it will kill that grounded point/wire and make it easier to now find.

    np246 banging in 4wd

Yes, same np246. I'm thinking they just used a longer shaft up front to compensate for the longer 80e. From what I can see the yoke is same and same u joints. I'll grab a new joint and put it together at work then install it when I get home. A couple thingsI found before I took the my old tcase...

    How-To: Install a trans temp gauge in a 95+ GMT400 with a 4L60e

Nice job. Maybe check with a window tint shop for a scrap of blue tint to put on the lens instead of pulling it apart.

    np246 banging in 4wd

Update and question. New t case is in but front prop shaft (on the old case) wouldn't come out since the yoke is seized in. Is the yoke the same from the 4l80e parts truck. The shaft is not as it is longer but I can't match up the yoke. Can I swap my shaft to the other yoke. I think only the...

    Discontinued Emissions Part for 454

Looks like a vacuum actuated valve for your crank case gasses. There's probably a rubber diaphragm inside that's coming apart. Try to open it up and carefully repair it with some black rtv silicone.

Cool weather brings on P0171 bank one lean

Maybe try a hotter thermostat if it seems to be temperature related? 180 I believe is oe. I run a 190 here up north all year. I know people in Alberta switch theirs out between summer and winter but their temps are more extreme. My truck is finicky with the intake air temp, likes to throw codes...

Rear Spacers to even out stance? 1998

Any reason why they left it this way. Ifs is wider than the earlier solid axle in front. Should I use spacers in the back to even it out.

    np246 banging in 4wd

Correct me if I'm wrong. On a IFS isn't the front diff fixed in place same as the t-case? Only the CV axles should articulate. The only movement would be the minor torque movement on the t-case. A solid front shaft should still be ok.

    np246 banging in 4wd

So guys n gals, it looks like the previous owner swapped the front prop shaft to a solid (non-slipjoint) style. Its in the t-case all the way and I checked with the tech, he said he didn't bother fighting with it when it didnt come out easily he just unbolted it and took it off from the front...

    np246 banging in 4wd

Thanx, I'll check into the slip joint further. maybe with the fighting to try and get it out it didn't get put back in all the way due to it being seized up a bit?? The shop and tech are legit and I know them well. A cooler line had blown off my trans on the highway and I cooked it that's why it...

    np246 banging in 4wd

Shifting from a stand still in neutral. Engages normal in either hi or low, light stays solid. When I accelerate it skips. I have been hearing a bit of writing noise from the front end but I believe it's the left front wheel bearing as it does go away when I turn and the weight comes off of it...

    np246 banging in 4wd

New here so bear with me. I had my 4L60E replaced now when I put it in 4 hi or 4 low it sounds like either the chain is hopping or splines are skipping as soon as ther is any torque on the ft end? 4wd lights all stay solid hi or low, just the noise is terrible and had no problems prior. Note...
