XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31

I tackled this same job yesterday, purchased that same shaft from ebay too. After torching it forever I realized there is no internal plastic, it is indeed held on by those indentations. Instead of drilling however, I just beat the shaft out. After getting it out I was able to file down those...

    V6 Motor Mounts?

I went ahead and tackled the job of replacing the mounts. (Not something I'd want to do again btw) Anywho, for anyone else out there facing this job I will give my input. The driver side was not terribly difficult. I jacked up the motor using a block of wood on the oil pan lip (along the bolts)...

    V6 Motor Mounts?

Interesting, if I planned on keeping the V6 i'd definitely consider these. Thanks!

    V6 Motor Mounts?

Anyone have any tips or tricks on replacing the motor mounts in my 92 V6 truck? I am not yet ready for my 305 to go in, so the v6 will be staying for a bit, however the mounts are shot. Just hoping someone may chime in with some advice on how they did it. Thanks

While working on the truck I have also been freshening up this to replace the V6. It's a 97 Vortec 305. I haven't rebuilt it, as it ran great before being removed from the donor truck. Just replaced gaskets, timing chain, and the oil pump. Plans are to keep it old school with a Rochester carb.

Thanks, everything I have done to the truck has been over the past year or so, just whenever I had free time. My dad has also been a big help on some things.

    '09 Crown Vic Police Interceptor

I am a big fan of the Panther platforms myself. I've had 2 Grand Marquis and a Town Car. Parts are cheap and even more plentiful than our trucks. This crown vic looks great!

With the exception of surface rust, the frame is great. I believe the rust inside was all due to a leak

Thank you, honestly I should have looked the truck over a little better before buying it. Dealing with rust really sucks, but I think I have it under control now..

I didn't really like the original GMC grill, so I tried a 94+ and wasn't thrilled with it either. I wanted to keep the classic look so I went with the older Chevy grill and that is what l have kept on it.

Interior was shot, the dash was completely disintegrated. It took a long time to find a decent replacement seat, dash and carpet. Kept a seat cover on until I found another bench.

Ordered a new rocker, and the rest I cut out a floor from the junkyard and welded it all in. Bottom of the driver's door also had rust, so I found another one rust free.

Long time lurker, finally decided to join. I purchased this truck for $500 about a year ago and it has been my project since then. 92 GMC C1500, 200K miles, 4.3, AT. I forget the trim package but I would say W/T. I still have a long way to go, especially compared to some of these impressive...
