    LCAs hitting spindles.

I used new complete assembly LCAs of MOOG RK620299/RK620298 (and matching MOOG RK620160/RK620161 UCAs) which are listed for a whole bunch of 2WD GM trucks/vans. They definitely matched the original 25 year old ones. I followed the 1995 C/K factory service manual for torque specs. I'm going to...

    LCAs hitting spindles.

Yeah that pointed bit is it digging Into the LCA, and I can feel and hear it quite well when it happens. The first time it happened I thought I hit my retaining wall pulling into the driveway, it was that jarring.

    LCAs hitting spindles.

I'm an idiot, it's hitting the *spindle*, not the caliper. It's like the spindle bump stop is riding over the tab on the LCA. Both sides equally as bad. Is there one other then the big rubber one on the LCA? That one is OEM.

    LCAs hitting spindles.

Well, there is a picture in the original post where you can see the damage it's doing to the LCA. At full lock, bouncing on the bumper it has clearance, only while turning and hitting something with one tire (like a driveway) do they make contact, and it can be 2mph and it still does it.

    LCAs hitting spindles.

The only thing I reused was the calipers and spindles when rebuilding the front end of the 1995 C1500 Suburban. Everything else was new AC Delco or Moog, now with 1350 miles on it. It's been to the alignment shop twice, and is in spec. When I pull into a driveway either side, the LCA smacks the...

Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

The idle screw won't do anything if the IAC is open too far. Just for clarification: You jump the pins, turn the key on (not starting it) wait 30 seconds, then unplug the IAC, turn key off, remove jumper, start truck, adjust idle, turn truck off, plug in IAC.

    Z-height (stock torsion bar setting)??!

The biggest problem I'm finding, is the Service Manual says I have to tighten the Lower Control Arm bolts while the "Z" height is in spec. But it's not adjustable on a 2WD with coil springs, like it is on a 4WD or HD with Torsion Bars.

    Replacing the upper A arms.

Jack up the truck, remove tire. Use the special tool to unload the torsion key, remove the key, beat the bar out.

    Z-height (stock torsion bar setting)??!

Can anyone tell me where/what exactly is the "Lower Ball Joint Extrusion" as pointed out as 14 on a "C" Model?

    Interior Handle-which one?

My drivers side is the exact same way. I figured it needs something lubed up inside.

Stiffer spings to stop tires from kissing fenders?

I could have just slapped a leveling kit on if I wanted clearance, but since this is my daily driver I'm trying to keep it as stock-ish as possible, but the factory station-wagon tires weren't doing it for me so they had to go. I do have a 1995 K2500 Suburban 454 as my project truck though.

    Blower motor?

I'dsay it's downright easy as far as repairs go. The only hard part is getting the insulation off intact. But I found it made no real difference leaving it off. While the fan is off, is a good time to clean out the evaporator. No filters there, so it accumulates dirt and leaves etc from the...

Anyone replaced an Upper Control Arm Mount?

Oh I hear ya. I know it looks like crap, but it wasn't easy getting in there to do it right. I did clean a bit of it down to metal with the dremel before the initial weld. I also hit a lot of the blobs with a hammer and chisel so as ugly as they are, they should be sufficiently penetrated. Not...

Anyone replaced an Upper Control Arm Mount?

The red outline is approx what was rusted out and overlayed with .060 sheet. But I realized how easy I could burn through that so I used it as a backer to lay line after line of weld. Then went through 18 dremal grinding discs to cleanup a pocket for the bushing. Yep, it looks like...

Stiffer spings to stop tires from kissing fenders?

Yep, the side with stiffer spring installed is sitting a solid inch higher despite being a 1/2" shorter spring. I think I'll be good. Oh, the 1/2" difference is a flat cut top on HD vs full coil top on SD.

Anyone replaced an Upper Control Arm Mount?

95 C1500 Suburban. Passenger side, firewall side, front upper mount is seriously rusted out. The other 3 look great. I didn't see replacements for sale. Can you cut one from a junkyard frame? Well my 90A welder probably wouldn't have the juice to weld one to the frame anyway. I welded some...

    Replacing the upper A arms.

You don't even need the tool for the knockouts, I did mine today with a 3/8-16 bolt, nut, and socket. Bent them out just far enough to grab with pliers.

Gasket between knuckle and dust shield. Where??

That's Chilton's for ya. It IS the correct way around in my service manual.

Gasket between knuckle and dust shield. Where??

On the topic, does the rubber gasket actually go in the groove inside the dust shield? Old shield too rusted out to tell. The gasket is just barely larger than the new dust shield opening. Doesn't look like it'd do anything sandwiched in. E: Never mind. In the section of the service manual...

Sorry, the fully compresssed length is what is .5" shorter.

Stiffer spings to stop tires from kissing fenders?

1995 C1500 Suburban, 120k. Going over certain railroad tracks at speed, my 10.5" wide front tires are just barely touching the fenders when the suspension compresses. I put new KYB shocks on 500 miles ago. So I ordered 2150lb "heavy duty" springs vs the 1800lb "standard" springs hoping to...
