    TBI Fuel Injector question

I'm always searching on car-part.com. That's where I was quoting the prices from. Even a running 100k 305 block which are supposedly worthless has an asking price of $500-800 around here and a core is $200-300. The used car market in NC is kind of crazy which I think is what contributes to this...

    TBI Fuel Injector question

There might be some laying around in the dirt somewhere. I'm just not sure where. With the used car market being what it is everyone just thinks their stuff is made out of gold. I'm the only one of my friends working GM stuff. I spent the last 20ish years building off road stuff. So, most of my...

    TBI Fuel Injector question

For now I'm just going to play with what I have. I bought this stuff years ago and never did anything with it. So, I figured I'd just try it and see. I don't really have a particular goal in mind I just want to try it and see what happens. It's pretty mild roller cam but should do something...

    TBI Fuel Injector question

Simple answer: Because I want to and I can. Longer answer, see my response to Erik. Thanks, I have Tunner Pro and a ALDL cable. I just have not figured out how to actually interpret the data yet. I've done that, I'm also going to try and clean the injectors myself. I may also try putting...

    TBI Fuel Injector question

You guys definitely live in a different area than I do. My local junk hard wants $350-500 for a 350 "Core" and "running" 350's are around $900-1200. I'm also not the guy who's going to take a junk yard motor and just drop it in and roll the dice. I'm going to pull it apart send it to a machine...

    TBI Fuel Injector question

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a question I have. I have a '94 with a 305. I'm getting ready to do a cam upgrade and installing some 081 heads. I know I'll need to get a tune to make it run right. But I'm wondering about injectors. I ended up with a box of various injectors. Some of...

4x4 Tahoe with Adjustable Ride height?

I know it's not the typical topic in this section. But I thought I'd ask in case someone has done it. I've done some searching and I've found some threads on lowering 4x4's. But that is more permanent and I'm looking for some adjustability. What I'm thinking about: I have a '98 Tahoe 4x4 that...

    Axle shifting on acceleration

I finally got the rear suspension done. Replaced all the bushings, u-bolt and the trans mount. I've only put 20-30 miles on it so far but I have not really felt the shifting. So, hopefully that is fixed. I just used standard U-bolts from Rock Auto and AC Delco bushings nothing fancy.

    Axle shifting on acceleration

Also check out the trans mount. I think for me it's probably more the broken trans mount and the worn our shackle bushings and not the U Bolts. But I'm just going to go ahead and replace them all anyway. U bolts are only $7 or $8 each on RockAuto.com.

    Axle shifting on acceleration

Decided to shift around some to-do's. So I guess I'll be redoing the rears suspension one of the next weekends. I ordered new trans mount, U bolts, new drop shackles and new leaf spring bushings. I'm sure the bushings will be a joy to get out. But I figured if I'm pulling it apart again anyway I...

    Axle shifting on acceleration

The the shackle bushings will definitely get replaced. I think the U-bolts are ok for now. The picture actually makes them look worse than they are. But, I'm debating on doing the bushings in the leaf springs also. So, if that happens I'll definitely do the U-bolts too. But not sure how soon...

    Axle shifting on acceleration

Well, I got it on the lift today and checked stuff out. There was some play in the drive line but nothing that seemed unusual for an older RWD truck. U-bolts were all intact. There was some minor rust but nothing substantial. I decided to flip the drop shackles and found the bushings had...

    Axle shifting on acceleration

Not sure if this would cause it but mine is facing the other way.

    Axle shifting on acceleration

I'll definitely check them. I tend to go overboard on the preventive maintenance. So even if something is slightly worn it will get replaced. Especially, since parts for these trucks are cheap.

    Axle shifting on acceleration

Thanks Guy's I'll definitely check the U bolts and plates. However, I doubt its related to rust. I don't think the truck has ever seen salt and the underside is super clean. I am curious about the drop shackles though. To me they look like they are backwards, but I've never installed any so...

    Axle shifting on acceleration

I have a '94 C1500 that I just recently picked up. It has 2" drop shackles in the rear but is otherwise stock. Overall the truck runs and drives great. It's quiet, tracks straight down the road and handles well for a 24 year old truck. However, I'm having an odd issue. When I take off from a...

    Coil-overs: QA1 vs ALDAN

I'm curious to hear how you like them. I'm in the same boat. I'm not really looking to drop the truck but I'm wondering if the coilovers will give it a better ride. The confusing thing about the QA1 ones are that they have spring rates from 400-650lbs/in and I have no idea which one I should...
