    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

My mechanic has the new engine installed and everything buttoned back up, and they're hoping to fire it up for the first time today or tomorrow. I did want to let everyone know (for those of us who didn't know) that the EGR tubes for our trucks are now available through local parts stores...

Well, I finally got the engine back and it's getting ready to go back in. The following picture is where we're at today. Once we get the engine back in, we are installing a set of ceramic coated Gibson headers and a few other upgrades. I'm looking forward to getting the Burb back on the road!

Does your 99 7.4 drink antifreeze? Mine has for several years but I have never found it in the oil? I suspect that its been going out of the tail pipe but I dont know for sure.

    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

From what I was told, the reason that it wouldn't start was because the ignition coil was fried. My Plenum gasket had been leaking for awhile and my passenger side exhaust manifold has been cracked for 6 months or so, so im not sure if that had anything to do with the valve issue or not. For...

New/Remanufactured Engine: Welp, the time has come for me to make a decision concerning my engine and I have decided to have my engine/block 'remanufactured'. I use the Suburban daily, pulling trailers, hauling lumber back and forth to the job site and everything in-between. Ive had it since it...

    Losing hope

I has a similar issue with my Suburban a few years ago. My battery would drain overnight and have to jump start it the next morning. The short story is, it turned out to be the vanity light on my sun visor was staying on draining the battery. I disconnected it and haven't had an issue since...

    2000 7.4 vortec with p0171 and p0174 please help

My truck has thrown those codes twice within the past 15 years that I've owned it. The first time, I replaced just about every part that you can think of and I was still getting a P0171 and P0174. I even took it to a couple of shops, that ran multiple test and they couldn't figure it out. One...

Need help with a Security/Passlock Issue

My son-in law's 1999 Tahoe started having issues where his Tahoe would leave him stranded for hours before it would crank. We ordered him an ECM/PCM (programmed to his VIN) from eBay with the Passlock/VATS disabled. It took us 10 minutes to swap, and resolved the issue. The cost was $140.00.

'99 K2500 Suburban violent drivetrain jolting at highway speeds

A few months after I got mine, I was driving down the Interstate at 70mph and it started doing the exact same thing that you describe. My problem turned out to be the transfer case. Slapped a reman unit in and has been good ever since.

    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

Yeah, it's factory. Cutting into it has been the only thing keeping me from installing a Double DIN radio, but it looks like Metro makes a Double DIN dash bezel for it, minus the wood grain....I'm just not sure how it would look.

    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

I've been reading up on installing a Double DIN radio and it doesn't appear to be as 'complicated' as I thought it would be. Those H2 rims are nice. I've been searching for some for the Burb, but no luck as of yet.

I heard that! I was trying to preserve my factory cargo mat, but decided to to take the Suburban to go get some gas for my mower this past summer and turned into my neighborhood to hard on my way back! Long story short, ruined my cargo mat...and I didn't think that I'd ever get the smell of gas...

Thank you! Over the past years, I have probably spent enough replacing the floor mat's in the Burb to put Weathertech floor mat's in three times! :D I decided to go ahead and spend the money and give them a try. wish I had of done it sooner, because I rarely have to vacuum the carpet anymore...

Continued: So far, out of all the 'upgrade's that I have completed (so far); the three that have really made the most difference for me have been: 1) Installing the new Anzo headlight's 2) Putinng the Weathertech floor mat's in 3) Taking those horrible twin cylinder Monroe shocks off and...

    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

I appreciate it and thanks for your input! I had a 1984 Chevy truck, lifted with 36" Super Swampers years ago that drove like a two horse wagon. I have been leaning more towards staying stock for the reasons you listed. My nephew has a lifted truck with 38s and my Suburban (stock height) has an...

    Remodelmaster's 1999 K2500 Suburban (Burb)

I found an upholstery shop that said they could recover both the front seats to 'like new factory condition' for $350.00 per seat. Like yours, my backs are great. The worst one is the bottom/drivers side. I'd like to keep it looking as close to factory as possible without breaking the bank. In...

Didn't have crank the torsion bar's. Every now and again I'll get a quick 'scrub' if I'm turning sharp and hit a bump at the same time, but it happens even less since I replaced the shocks.

    The Member Truck Thread

One of my framing crew guy's pulled up one day with a new set on his 2019 Dodge Ram 3500/Diesel. My first thought was "man those tires look good"! After hearing him brag about them for 6-7 months I decided to give them a try. I've had no problems with them. They are wearing great tread wise...
