    Door glass run

Concur that the LMC weatherstripping is super tight - windows are very slow going up and down even with new motors. Contemplated using dry grease in the channels to help, but think I may look into sourcing OEM, as it’s super annoying as is.

    AC compressor rattle

Just throwing this out there... My AC was recently rebuilt, and was working great, blowing super cold air, with no excessive noise. As the engine would warm up with driving, there wouldn’t be any noticeable audible changes until I would come to stop light - once at idle the compressor was...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

That option looks great as well. For me, I want to be able to continue using cassettes, but would like to be able to switch to bluetooth/phone use, and want the system to appear as bone stock as possible. I'm thinking of getting a unit similar to this and to have it be switchable between the...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

I actually have not seen that one before, and am intrigued. I'm definitely going for that stock interior look, and this one is the closest I've ever seen. Very intrigued indeed....

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

Wanted to post some updated interior pics now that I have the truck back - shop did a good job. Only piece I'm missing now is the Medium Dark Gray driver side arm rest, if anyone has a lead on one please let me know! Alternate option is to buy an armrest in a different color and try to paint to...

    Removing Roof Seam Filler strips?

There is a metal keyhole slot at the side toward the front of the truck (pictured), and then there is a plastic keyhole insert that snaps into the other end (can be purchased on LMC and eBay). You’ll likely break the plastic inserts when removing. LMC part number 31-1358, think they’re like $1 ea

    Smog Help

Thanks all for the feedback - noticed new tanks are $90, might try to just replace that as well while I’m at it...

    Smog Help

Resurrecting an 8 year old thread, but just failed the same exact portion of smog. Sounds like a small air leak coming from top of fuel tank for my '90 stepside, but hard to tell where exactly it's coming from. For those who have done it, is it easier to pull the bed off, or drop the tank to get...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

The wheels are actually from quadratec - the C1500 shares the same 5" x 5" lug pattern as the JK Wrangler. These have an increased offset (+10) which are closer to the same spec as the 454 SS wheels. Still needed a 1.5" spacer to clear the lift spindles, and minimal trimming of the front bumper...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

Taking the truck in next week to get the interior reupholstered - picked out as close to stock fabrics and colors as possible to keep the stock look. The cloth is so faded the bench is almost a mint green color, as opposed to the original dark grayish-blue you can see in the unfaded pull out...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

Popped the truck over to another local shop so they could lift the truck. Went with the 4” spindle lift up front, 2” blocks in the back, Bilstein 5100s all around, and 33” BFG KO2s. Next was paint, and the shop did an absolutely amazing job. Took the finish down to the factory red and built...

    1990 C1500 Stepside Restoration - "Arnie's Truck"

I always like starting with the “Bottom Line Up Front” – so here are some shots of my recently restored 1990 C1500 Stepside: Now for the long version: 2015 I grew up in Southern California, and joined the Marine Corps after college. Spent some time in Quantico, VA, then Newport, RI, and...

    Stepside Bed Rail Repair

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! I think I might get a set to test fit, sounds like it may be close enough to work.

    Stepside Bed Rail Repair

I know I’m reviving an old thread, but incredible work. I do have a question for the OP - you mentioned the stepside rails were 1/2” wider than the fleet side rails, or is it the other way around? I have a ‘90 stepside, and I’m looking for plastic bed rail caps/covers, and was hoping I might...
