    400kpa/60psi vs 550kpa/80psi gauges

Ran to the parts store for a new AC delco sender, and issue is resolved! Hot idle oil pressue is now good to go. I still don't know if the 2x senders I had before were for the other clusters though.

    400kpa/60psi vs 550kpa/80psi gauges

Here is my US spec 1992 5.7/5 speed. I'm starting to wonder if I have the wrong sending unit, or cluster issues. This is new oil cold oil pressure (high idle). Tried a new sending unit today, same results.. but didn't look close at the part # for pressure rating. Waiting on a mechanical gauge...

    IAC ECM Inputs

My understanding is the ECM looks for PRND signal and that changes running characteristics. Mine also has a shift light, which I don't really care about. Not sure if that's on the chip though.

    IAC ECM Inputs

With the help of the member Skyd, I have finally nailed down what is causing my high idle. His issue was a faulty ECM causing idle issues, instead of replacing my ECM I tracked down some friends who had a couple used ones stashed away for me to try. Very long story short IAC logic is...

    IAC ECM Inputs

I have since found this post: by DerekTheGreat High idle ONLY while moving Which explains why my idle might be higher while moving.. but doesnt quite solve the extremely long high idle time siitting still. I will eventually post what I find.. if I can somehow find the issue.

At my wits end with high idle issues.

That's a great suggestion, I'll have to track one down that can scan it. I have sprayed the intake again thinking it has to be a missing vacuum leak. Checked the booster connection, vac lines again. No signs. Tempted to take the throttle body off and visually inspect, and maybe as far as...

At my wits end with high idle issues.

I have replaced the IAC (I use all genuine parts) and it functions like it should when setting base idle etc. If it had the plug replaced and a lead was switched would that cause it to be lazy returning to idle? I have gone through everything else, I'm going to have to start checking for odd...

Help me decide... 383 or LSx?

Here is a great recent article on a 383 vs 6.0 LS. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/the-toolbox/project-chevelle-383-vs-ls-shootout-tech-article/30217 You can't go wrong with either, but I voted LS. I like the multiple fuel injection options, oem ignition setup, still evolving after market...

    IAC ECM Inputs

Bringing up this old thread, my factory 92 C1500 350/5 Speed has this exact same issue. Anyone have the same thing with a solution?

At my wits end with high idle issues.

Very interesting thread. I have been reading over any and all high idle issue threads recently. My 92 C1500 350/5 speed has the dreaded high idle until it has ran for 20 minutes. Then it settles. I have checked for vacuum everywhere, set base idle and timing. When I replaced the IAC I did...

    The Stupid Lowered Questions Thread

Hmm I'd say I'll email Belltech but they weren't much help when I emailed about the loose fit on the c notch. Guess it's worth a try. I am running the spacers as I figured the rear up 6" would mess with the driveshaft angle (some correction on the Belltech spring mounts however). It drives...

XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade (88-94 Trucks) 95+instructions on page 31

Is the AC delco part the same as the dorman? I'm hoping this will work for my 92 C1500 as the dorman part is out of stock lots of places.

    The Stupid Lowered Questions Thread

Just finishing up my 4/6 drop. 92 c1500 rcsb with 5 speed manual. Do I shim the manual trans up as instructed? Hope it doesnt mess with the shifter position etc. Edit: Jammed the spacers in while it was on the lift. Guess I'll see how things are once it's back on the road.

    Belltech notch gap

If things weren't all closed up here in Canada I'd consider something else. But I have the time and parts so it's going in. I am doing the 3 stage prep and por15 paint on all parts, even the holes I drill, spacers etc before it gets re assembled. It'll live a summer only life so the rust...

    Belltech notch gap

Upon looking a bit further, truck tech added some shims between the lower bolts. Glad to see they didn't just torque it down and bend anything.

    Belltech notch gap

The Belltech instructions say to have the C notch flange in contact with the top of the chassis. This is what threw me off on the whole thing because I sure wasnt going to torque the bottom fasteners with that huge gap and bend the frame. It's with this lack of clarity that disappoints me...

    Belltech notch gap

I was going to add the spacer under the upper lip of the notch, to lift the whole thing up. There are no bolt holes on the top so the weld would hold the spacer only. Do you think I'm better off spacing the bottom? I only gain 5/16" going up but I had cut for that clearance originally.

    Belltech notch gap

When I weld the spacer to the Belltech notch would you weld all sides or just the outside edges? Not sure if laying heat into the bent corner is good or not?

    Belltech notch gap

I think this is the route I'll take for now. A bit easier to un-do or go further with in the future. It bothers me how the top plate isn't bolted but it must just be there for added strength of the angle.

    Belltech notch gap

You don't ever worry about heat stressing the frame? Read about that lots... but with extra meat can't see it being a thing.

    Belltech notch gap

I noticed on power nations belltech install they had the gap too. They mentioned bolting the bottom together but don't show it. I'd like to see what all bent! 11:00 in the video

    Belltech notch gap

Last email back from them was 11 a.m. after back and forth on part numbers (I had given them the notch kit part number, but they wanted to know the entire suspension kit ). Needless to say it seems like they've ghosted for today. I don't have high hopes on what their suggestion would be. What...

    Belltech notch gap

That's what I'm thinking too, I might space the top up to give me a bit more clearance from the notch.

    Belltech notch gap

I found a thread in 2014 with the same issue but no others complaining. Anyone else have a Belltech notch that doesn't fit the frame tight at all? There is 5/16" of space between the bottom and the frame. I'm suppose to bolt the bottom of the notch to the frame, but that would cause some...
