Knocking noise when clutch pedal is disengaged under load

Is that just the sound of the clutch grabbing a little and causing gears to make noise?

    Swapping AC compressor to Sanden

Sorry for the delay, I missed your response some how. I bought some brackets from Alan Grove for the top mount location, but they do have low mounts as well. I don't think those would fit in the truck though. http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/LS.htm

    Swapping AC compressor to Sanden

Hi Guys, As part of my swap from a TBI to an LS I also plan to change out the AC compressor to a Sanden unit. I was thinking that I would strap the old compressor with the hoses attached to something out of the way under the hood, mount and wire the new unit it, and then drive it to the shop...

    94 K1500 ECSB Steppie to get 02 LQ4 Transplant

Hello all, I moving toward installing an LQ4 in my old truck (engine in hand). The current engine irritates me to no end. I have replaced the head gaskets, and a second time after the first in an attempt to get rid of fairly regular air bubbles going through the heater core. I'm either doing...

1995 Suburban 5,7l tbi doesn't start (no fuel and no spark)

Yes it certainly can. The ECU uses the signal generated at the distributor to fire the injectors. Without that signal the ECU does not know that the engine is turning and does not add any fuel.

    Cam upgrade??

Hi all! I have a 94 K1500 with a 5.7L, NV4500, 14-bolt-3.42 gear ratio, E-cab, stepside. It now has new top end gaskets and fuel pump and it runs much better than when I purchased it. I could not pass it up. I had been looking for one of these trucks for a while and when I found this one with...

    Dads 94 steppie rough running

I recently purchased a TBI that acted like this and it was the fuel pump. Other issues too, but at least primarily. It's not the easiest to check the pressure on these, but with a good scan tool you can see the fuel trim. If the number is much over 128 it has been trying to add more fuel and a...

    TBI/Vortec Dipstick and Tube

I had not tried going older in my lookup, Thanks! PN 10190973 looks identical except for the color of the handle. I may still go to the wreck yard and see what I can find. The problem with the old style stick is that it does not use an o-ring, it uses a sleeve of sorts that is pressed into the...

    TBI/Vortec Dipstick and Tube

I have a TBI truck and the seal in the handle of the dipstick got wonky and prevents it from seating properly on the tube. The dipsticks for the TBI don't seem to be available anymore, but the vortec dipsticks are a different design and won't fit. The TBI have a handle that fits over a straight...

    Dreaded intake manifold leak...I think?

The knock off Tech2 will raise the RPMs for you also, which is nice. Well at least there is a mode for it on my older 94.
